A lot of potential, Preston. But nothing now. He needs to go to colledge and learn his trade as his voice matures. Then he really could be someone.

 

I agree with Meg. He can sing well for his age, but he appears to have a limited voice-range ( maybe his choice of song)

and he needs to study technique more ( especially his breathing technique). Sometimes audiences get carried away by

the judges' emphasis on age. I hope he has training and makes it.

I bet he will I he takes the right path. He's the same age as D was when he was singing at Covent Garden with The Scottish Opera.

The Australian boy's voice still has time to develop and mature. It is already fantastic for a fifteen year old.

What a pity there are no youtubes of D singing at that age.

13 yrs ago we didn't have a lot of the things we have now.

There has just been small clip of Darius on the Paul O Grady Show which shows previous guests, makes me even more aware of how long it has been since Gone With the Wind.

I'll have to watch that and hope to see it.

I should think Darius and Natasha will be pretty tied up for a while if they're househunting and moving house.

 

Earlier this month, Natasha was papped looking at properties in Santa Monica.

 

There's no way Darius would leave his LA family at such a time, in order to take off for the UK to work or audition for any role, unless it was an unmissable opportunity and a new challenge.

 

One thought - I wondered if they were moving to be in the catchment area for the Junior High of their choice for Tristan. I don't know about the US but in Canada, my niece's sons had to change school when they moved house. They wanted to attend their former schools which were within easy travelling, but it just wasn't allowed.

 

One of the problems of having a family these days. The housing market is so slow at the moment. Here, a neighbours house, went for £100,000 less than it was put on the market for.

That's a huge difference. I think I would have taken it off the market until prices moved up a bit. Maybe that wasn't an option. At least it sold.

 

I can't second guess Darius this time.

 

I'll just have to wait but I'm doubtful if he would want to take on another WE/MT lead role just yet, unless it was something phenomenal.

 

Gareth would make a good Marius. Les Mis is a "sung through" musical I think.

 

 

And Gareth's voice is just so good and so perfect for the part. I wish Darius didn't have a phobia about being tied to anything for too long. I do think he's be great in Les Mis though, not as Marius though.

I struggled with the word pertinant as couldnt think what word I meant, perhaps relevant would have been better.

Luckily, he wasn't on the part of the programme that Mum saw.

So was he on the other part i wonder?Glad you didn't miss him though :) .In a way i hate his Britney audition being seen as part of the 'worsed auditons' because,thats all some people seem to remember him b,it should be known as 1 of the 'best auditions' for the fact that Darius has fought for what he beleived in and acheived it with flying colours......ie,having a number 1 single and a platinum album .,even before he said he would,in fact 10 years before !!He has proved to be an Amasing role model for many,and a Great inspiration, for many more! :D
