I guess it'll have to remain a bit of a puzzle.

 

To be honest I'm not that keen on Darius playing Billy again because as Preston said it looks like a backward step and it's unlikely to raise his profile.

 

IMHO if music is his passion again, then building through "cluster of gigs" within a number of regions would be much better. He could do local radio and TV at the same time and use the gigs to trial his new songs and sing live songs most people haven't heard from Live Twice and b-sides.

 

There is no quick way if he's serious about that album. He has to be here for a much longer time.

 

He can't perform his songs withou his labels permission. He's a bit tied until they sort out what and when he can release. He needs to do something and I prefer his own stuff but will take the theatre as a little gift while I'm waiting.

I often check out the posters on the 'I Like' Forum and a few weeks ago I noticed that someone had been playing a Darius track which I think I remember was called 'Shades of Blue' (or something similar!!). Today I have just had a look over there and a poster (Andrea H) has played a Darius track called 'This is my World', 23 times. I remember the first poster had a German sounding name but the second poster doesn't say where she is from. How do these people know about these songs if D hasn't released anything new and how do they play them over on 'I Like'?? Is anyone a member over there and is there any way to find out where these tracks have come from??!!

There's a group called Darius and there's a Persian singer called Dariush, sometimes written as Darius in English text. We'd have to hear them to know if the voice sounds like our Darius.

There's nothing on Rachel's site and surely there would be an announcement on there if Darius was going back into Chicago. Sue

Thanks BT - that's cleared that up!!! - I was getting all excited!! :( I've heard of Darius Rucker. Why did both posters list the tracks as Darius Danesh songs - you would have thought they would know!! Nevermind..... we will just have to keep waiting and looking..... :D

It was a nice thought that some were public at last. When they want to start pu licity, Darius and Rachel will put detailsx of things out. I'm just speculating.

. Michelle williams is in Chicago till the middle of August. I think like Baytree that he has to get out there and do a lot more than just Chicago. I really dont understand why IF he is still with 19 they are not giving him more to do or perhaps he is happy with that situation. Like PIP it is hard to understand why other people are apparently forging ahead when he has the talent and stage presence and charisma not being used.

We wouldn't be saying much of this if GWTW had succeeded. It should have.

Yes, I would............ if Darius had completed his 6 months in GWTW then gone back to LA and reappeared as Billy Flynn - the role is way below his capabilities.

 

I'd only find it acceptable if he was doing it because he loves being on stage and is so well versed in it, he can get on with other projects in London during the day.

Ig GWTW had been successful and they had taken the option of extending his role, we would have at least had the cast album. I know he likes 'Chicago' but we are only speculating because new posters have gone up showing new people playing the roles.

We're speculating because it's a new poster and that is undeniably Darius.

I just can't see why he would be on it if he wasn't lined up to reprise the role.

Funnily enough, I didn't. I will towards the end of July when I'm back in London though. It was only the two Billy's that caught my attention.

Ditto pip but I think Rhydian might be lined up for that at some time.

IMHO, Rhydian could sing the score OK and he's got charisma but I'm not sure he could get the subtlety of the acting role, remembering that actors don't usually get long to rehearse for takeover roles.

 

 

I'd love Darius to be in that musical. And it's ages since I've seen it so that'd be another bonus.
