yes he is professional. I cant see how they confused Darius - it seems to much of a coincidence they got the second name Campbell - if he thinks he can hide by going to canada and changing his sirname..LOL it wont work

Didn't Darius use Campbell as his 'hotel' name until some magazine told everyone the name he used?

He told everyone on one of the tv programmes as well.

It's surprising how much D let slip out at times, when he was younger and more naive in terms of interviews.

Darius always said he wanted control. I was just never certain that that was a good idea for a 21 yr old.

Working in MT may have tempered that. It's teamwork. The desires of any one member of cast are never paramount, lead or not.

 

He has had to learn to take direction and for GWTW he also learned how to be creative ande and innovative to produce his best performance within the parameters set by the director.

 

If he changes medium, he will have to go through the unquestioning stage again perhaps for quite a few roles, before he'll get back to the latter. I wonder how hard that will be for him.

 

Re music, I personally can't foresee the day when Darius will ever turn out an album of covers, standards and other people's songs.

I wouldn't mind him singing other people's songs - I just would be disappointed if he produced copies rather than an individual cover or original.

I think the " I will record my OWN songs" is really deep in his psyche and it'll take some inducement to shift it. I don't think money would ever entice him.

 

Maybe if he was offered the chance to record an album with some producer he holds in the highest regard who will only do it only if Darius agrees to give him overall control, he might make that concession. Darius does always seem to value talented people and be motivated by a desire to work with them and learn from them.

 

We'll just have to wait and see. Unfortunately.

Maybe that is what is causing a holdup with the album. In this economic climate labels may not be happy with that concept. I would be happy with an album of covers if it meant it would be coming out NOW especially if it included From a distance, pretty flamingo, etc etc and the songs were well chosen not ones that have been done to death. That is not to say I wouldnt love an album of his new songs but something in the meantime would be great.Loved your replies Baytree on DS re D.

 

If he is in charge of his own PR then I think he has got it sadly wrong.
