What has happened to Baytree and Meg.

I keep wondering that, Preston. Meg went to stay at her Mum's and has no internet input, but I thought she would have been back

by now. Is her Mum ill, Spam ?

Baytree told us her sister is very ill, so I'm surmising they are spending time together.

Let's hope they're soon back with us.

Sadly my sister died very suddenly on 4th December. My other sister and brother-in-law were living with me until after the funeral. My son came over from Canada a couple of days before the funeral and he stayed until the 30th, when my brother, sister-in-law and I went away as usual for New Year. It really helped.

My son was only able to stay that length of time because he was able to do a lot of his work on computer and e-mail it in. He had to use my PC because I don't have wireless broadband and he couldn't use his laptop. That's why I could only really read. To be honest, I didn't really feel like talking to anyone anyway. I also had a dose of the flu just before going on holiday and maybe that had been pulling me down too.

So sorry to hear your news Baytree, so sad for you near xmas. My thoughts and sympathies are with you. The flu does drag you down as I had it also for three weeks during the xmas period and am still not right. worst bout I have ever had even though had a flu injection recently. Have missed you so glad to see you back. I imagine it is very cold up in glasgow as it is very cold down here in the south west when usually we get off lightly.

I'm so sorry,BT, to hear of your sad loss. Thank goodness you had relatives with you to give you support. Christmas is an

especially difficult time to lose someone; I'm glad you had people to help you through it. The house must seem very quiet

now they have all gone, but you know there will always be friends to talk with here on BJ. The 'flu bug is causing

havoc. Hubby and I had our injections, but we have still been very ill over Xmas.........I was off line for several days and

still not well, but the better weather is coming (we hope). Glad to have you back.

Thank you. I always feel among friends in this little community and if Darius will oblige, I hope to meet up with old DD friends and also hopefully some of you I've not yet met in person, at some event this year.

Physically I'm feeling much better than I have for a good while.

Yes the house does seem far too quiet. I'll have to get used to it again. Today I've had the radio on in the background because I needed to hear voices but didn't want to be distracted by the TV. I couldn't tell you one thing I've heard though.

So very sorry to hear your sad news BT. Glad you're beginning to feel a bit better physically because then you'll feel more able to cope with things. Sue
I bet if they'd played Darius you'd have heard. My Mum always has something on for noise.
That's so true Meg. I have the radio on very low as I'm going to sleep and it's amazing how suddenly I'm wide awake if I hear something, although in my mind I'm not listening. Silly really. Sue

Funnily enough I do remember something now.

A business man was complaining about how much they're charged to have the radio on in a small business and the guy on the radio was saying that the stations have to pay about double in PRS to play the same record an American station was playing.

There was also a mention that only 6% of the records released ever make top ten. There was no mention of what percentage of those released ever get airplay - I'd find that interesting.

I wonder who decides which records get airplay. I doubt the DJs have free choice.
Maybe it all depends on the down load charts, some might need a bit more airplay than others .
On Greater Manchester Radio the presenters during the day, are given a play list and appear to have no choice in the matter because if a person rings in, and asks for a request, they often comment that if it's not on the play list they can't play it. They also only seem to have access to a small nunber of new records, by a few popular artists ,which they play umpteen times each day!! Sue
........and when it takes their hump, even if it is on the playlist, they still don't play it when requested, as we found when Live Twice was pre-release.
Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.
I read somewhere that the Hit top 40 on the radio on sundays is to be based on downloads only.

I still haven't mastered the art of downloading, so I hope D will put out CDs.

Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

Don't hold your breath! I've had so mant arguments with my local radoi station in the past over Darius that I've lost count. Sue
