Posted November 23, 200816 yr http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/36/Coraline_poster.jpg The story of a young girl (Dakota Fanning) who unlocks a mysterious door in her new home in Ashland, Oregon, and enters into an adventure in a parallel reality. On the surface, this other world eerily mimics her own life—though much more fantastical. In it, Coraline encounters such off-kilter inhabitants as the morbidly funny Miss Forcible (Jennifer Saunders) and Miss Spink (Dawn French), and a counterfeit mother—who attempts to keep her. Ultimately, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home. Js7wxoqeVK0 I've been waiting for this movie for a few years now. I read the book when I was younger, and it's a fantastic and very carnivalesque children's novel with a fantastic plot. Movie looks amazing. Anyone else looking forward to this as much as I am?
February 15, 200916 yr Author Absolutely stunning and gorgeous. Loved this film on every level. Voice acting was top notch, but the kicker here is obviously the animation. They have stop-motion down to perfection, and while I'm not usually a fan of the 3D gimmick, this is a film that utilizes what it really should be used for. Definitely reccomended, and I expect this will get a bit more attention when released in the UK (not sure when that is). Definitely worth the long wait I've had for this. It's enjoyable for all ages; it's not even one of those children movies that have a few jokes aimed for adults (Shrek, etc.) more so a film that is simply not aimed at any age in particular. It can be appreciated by anyone. GO SEE IT PLS? Thus far the best film I've seen this year.
March 25, 200916 yr Ooh two days after my birthday! :D I saw a trailer for this a couple weeks back, it looks really good. I didn't realise it was in 3D though, which sucks because our local cinema never does 3D. :(
May 11, 200916 yr I enjoyed it but it was all a bit ODD and trippy like? Just a bit confusing, wasn't really what I expected. I thought it'd be kind of scary for little children too, I knew I would be scared by it if I was younger. Still a good movie, just all a bit weird I think for me. :s
May 11, 200916 yr I'm not usually a fan of the 3D gimmick, this is a film that utilizes what it really should be used for. I'm not big on 3D either tbh, it's usually a way of hiding the fact that a film is just not really very good.... Of all the films I've seen in 3D though, it's really the animated ones that use it to the best effect... I think it works really well there, I've enjoyed Bolt and Monsters Vs Aliens, and no doubt will enjoy Coraline as well, especially seeing as how I'm a big Neil Gaiman fan anyay..... I would love to see a 3D Japanese Anime film actually.... Something like 'Akira', 'Appleseed' or 'Ghost in the Shell' in 3D, how totally amazing would that be.....?
