The Virgin Book of British Hit Singles Mistakes List

Mistake #1 & #2: FAITH HOPE AND CHARITY/ARIEL

according to The Virgin Book of British Hit Singles it look slike Dani Behr had a hit single when she was about 2 ...(that is if she's about 34 now - as reported in some newspapers)....in an American group masterminded by Hustle & Shuffle man Van McCoy!!!

so according to the The Virgin Book of British Hit Singles she's up there in the youngest people to hit the charts with Microbe and Donna from Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps....!!!!!

and if they can't tell the difference between a 1976 disco group and a useless proto-Those 2 Girls/Milan girlband featuring Dani Behr and someone out of Bodger & Badger...then its just a good job that theyve got on page 333 a feature about Nirvana and grunge as they would have messed that hitography up as well....

and the girl who played Vicky from Bodger & Badger who wasnt Dani Behr in Faith Hope & Charity was also supposed to be to be in a band called Ariel with Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers whose hitography in the Virgin Book is also messed up and continues post-Dust/Chem brothers being combined with another act - argentinan producer/dj ariel belloso

Mistake No3 - They say that Madonna sampled "Gimme Gimme Gimme" on "Hung Up" in 2006. I thought it was 2005.

Sally Ann Marsh - she was everywhere in the early 90s - FH & C, miming along to Xpansions' only hit, Grange Hill etc.

Still, better than "Charity" who actually changed her name by deed poll to that if I recall correctly and was by far the least successful of the three.

My list so far: Shola Ama, The Pirates etc. They are listing the song as "readily you should know" not "you should really know" as it is actually called!

Sugababes denial wasn't download only

Madonna's info is also all f***ed up. They haven't displayed Holiday and Borderline with their original releases, rather as separate entries which is wrong as they were re-entries (not official re-issues, which the virgin book confusingly lists without telling you they are re-issues anyway, so it just looks like the same song listed twice). This also makes her run look like 35 consecutive top tens rather than the correct 34.

Talking of Madonna, the no. of weeks at No1 is missing for Sorry. It is also missing for Obviously by McFly, Stickwitu by PCD, The Importance of Being Idle by Oasis, and Everytime by Britney Spears. Sure there will be more.

For Mika's Grace Kelly, it's just plain wrong. Lists 4 weeks rather than 5.

Also, the Catalogue no. for no doubt's just a girl re-issue is wrong.

Let's keep this up, and hopefully the book makers read threads like this from time-to-time!
