...which has already been discussed in the blur forum.

and which if its like most forums on here will be a pro-blur love-in devoid of criticism...personally think blur reforming is a bad idea...kinda retrograde step after gorillaz, monkey and cheese making celebrity statuses

Hmmm, not sure how I feel about this.... I dunno... I mean, there was a noticeable dip in the quality of Blur's material in the last couple of studio albums, and as soon as Gorillaz "side-project" got up and running properly, it just seemed that Damon was distracted more by that rather than concentrating on the main project.... And Alex.... Well, he just seems to enjoy writing his various newspaper columns.....

I dont think anyone would want to class Gorillaz as just a "side-project" - its was much more interesting and important than that (and expensive too if its true that emi wouldnt sanction the band these days in the curent climate) tho obv others might want to discontinue the notion that Damon's involved in anyway as the members of the band could be seen as being as 'real' as a number of other pop bands and not just a group of drawings (if this was teletext i think a girls aloud stick figure comment could be attached here but as i like them not gonna go down that way).

saw the blur advert in the nme (think it was a page before the specials)...its getting as bad as the listings ad pages of mojo or uncut...and the blur advert is so trading on parklife imagry - its verging on a 'here and now - the 90s' tour poster

Loved Blur, glad they're back, though I do agree their last two albums were a bit patchy...

Blur could debut new songs at summer gigs

Blur have hinted that their summer headline shows could be more than an opportunity for fans to hear their greatest hits.

Guitarist Graham Coxon suggested rather than the "high street route" - that would see the band playing their most famous songs - there was also "another route round the back, which is really interesting."

He told NME: "It's just about how many ideas we have, that's what Blur was about anyway.

"Between records, when we had time to explore, we'd bring a little knapsack back to the studio. Now we've got bloody huge trunks of stuff."

Frontman Damon Albarn also suggested that the band could be in the process of writing new material in preparation for the summer shows.

He explained: "I'm not going onstage and just singing all the time because I'm not doing that, I love playing music.

"But at the same time, we're not going to be doing 20-minute organ solos."

Blur are set to headline T In The Park and two summer gigs of their own at London's Hyde Park (2-3 July).

Damon and Graham performed 'This Is A Low' at the w*n**r NME awards.
Eavis has now confirmed the rather obvious Glasto headline spot.

And it was very special IMHO.
