Was bloody surprised at NME's review - eight out of ten! Britney's got five out of ten which was also surprising! Fairly decent review in Q Magazine too.

Won't be able to add my review until Monday at the earliest!

Thats a great review and 8/10 is a great result,,im glad it is getting good reviews

The review from Q was pretty fair - it gave three stars (I'm not sure if they score out of 4 or 5 - think its 5). But at least they had listened to the album ... and they made quite relevant comments as far as I'm concerned ... that although the album is musically very good indeed - it does leave a bit to be desired lyrically - which I actually agree with - even though for me the music will always be more important than the words - if they could have gone that extra yard on lyrics - The Circus could possibly be even better.

I loved a bit in the NME review and comments on Take That though. They referred to the last series of Star Stories (when everyone still thought that Take That MkII wouldn't work) they made a smug comment in the titles towards the end .... ' ... and Take That went on to win an Ivor Novello in 2008' .... which we all know that they did!

I absolutly hate the Q review. very snorty one and only speaking about Gary as songwriter ....

Is it somewhere the NME one to read?

They did mention Mark - quite complimentary I think (more so than Gary). Well I thought so anyway. And from what I've seen of the lyrics to the songs - they are spot-on - Take That (all of them) while they are good with the melody - they really aren't very good with lyrics! Even on Beautiful World - I cringed at some of the words! Thank goodness the music was enough to lift it above all of that.

The NME one was only available in the magazine (it isn't a very long one - it was the star rating I was shocked at!) Really not worth buying the magazine for!

I am hearing now the album. Wow, it is much more experimental as I thought  .

But some people will be negativ surprised I think :teresa: .

Norma, perhaps I read a shortened version of the Q review, becaose Mark's name was not inside  . DO you have a link or is also only in magazine?

I've had the album on repeat all day. It's brilliant :yahoo:

Personal favorites:

* She Said (hidden track) - What a surprise (so NOT TT!) What a gem! Aw the blooper/smile before it starts! Wow!

* The Garden - They all sing lead on that one and it's just a great song.

* Said it all - Nice vocals from Mark and Gary.

But in all fairness, there isn't a bad track on it. There's not a song I would skip

It is better than I had anticipated. Best they've done so far!

Well, I heard the album now, without the bonus track.

I will put in the weekend a review, after I get tomorrow the original . But I found a post of mine in TT forum, some months ago, about what i wish in the new album:

"I would wish: naturally more Markie , more toghether (like in We all fall down or Never forget), more upbeat (like Shine), more courage to try something new (for example some exotic instruments, a little more difference between the songs), retro style and a little beatles feeling.

Wow, my list is quite short, isn't it? "

I am very sure that TT doesn't take time to read forums and such things, but : wow, my christmas wish list is fully checked!!! I soo loved the songs, one or two which i don't like totally, but it is no bad song on the album. :yahoo: :yahoo:

I only wish I have said lesser violins and lesser high notes, please  .

Wow you got everything you wanted!

No bonus track? Which one are you referring to? She Said is part of Hold Up the Light. It's starts at about 5:30min. Here was on the CD Single. I did expect it to be on the album, but there you go.

LOL, thank you, i hear it now . Very tong in cheek :naughty: ...

Hehe, and someone still believe in the boogie :teresa:

Iris the boys must have read your comment on TTTV all that time ago!!!!

When you do visit TTTV - what name do you post under - you and I can chat to each other there (and talk sense) and ignore everyone else!!!!

By the way ... what do you prefer being called? Iris or Teresa?

Hihi, over there i am Unicorn. I try also there to talk sense, but i get burried under other post  . You can call me Iris (I wish one of this two names were mine, mine is too normal :naughty: ). I soo wish on the official forum would make a separate group only for music discussions. The most interesants threads goes very quick from the first page... With the new one in black is very difficult for me to read and find and choose the interesant threads. B) Are you already on the black forum?

Do you really think TT are reading their forum? I have always thought it is a myth ...

Brilliant! You're one of the few people there who don't ignore me! I'm kathyp over there ... you'll have noticed ... if I make the slightest criticism of Take That (for their own good) people jump down my throat! I don't mind - I'm old enough and pretty enough to take their comments with a pinch of salt! And DO NOT - whatever you do criticise ANYTHING Robbie Williams does over there or they'll hang, draw and quarter you!   I once mentioned that it should be renamed Purerobbie2.com! It didn't go down too well! I must admit .. I too get peed off with all the posts on the 'physical' attributes of Take That (even though they are mighty impressive) its the music that interests me the most!

Iris - you should visit the IMDb website - all the individual members of Take That have a board over there as do Take That as a group!
