He was injured for quite a bit of this year, and Barcelona hardly set the world on fire... his name must sell himself!
December 4, 200816 yr I think everyone expected Ronaldo to win. His last year was brilliant, but I'd have prefered Casillas. I'm not a Madrid fan, I really don't like the team, but I think Casillas is the best goalkeeper I've ever since (appart from Buffon). He was the best one in Spain, and also one of the best of the Spanish Team, which won the Eurocup ^_^ In my opinion, they're the best, but Ronaldo is froward and Casillas not. I can't also belive that Messi finished so high. I expected somehitng like: 1- Ronaldo 2- Casillas 3- Torres and then, perhpas Messi, if not lower. I don't like Messi. I know he's a great player, and if football wasn't a team sport, he'd be the best one. But I think he sometimes forgets his team and tries to do everything alone. Anyway, congratulations to Ronaldo, and let's see where Agüero ends next year
December 4, 200816 yr Author Casillas had a good year, last year and I was expecting him to be 3rd instead of Torres. I still can't believe Messi made the list though... Casillas would have been a much better choice. Ronaldo had a good year this year, but it does annoy me that so much is made out of his goals from midfield, when they're not! He played as a striker/winger for Man Utd last season, not a midfielder!

December 9, 200816 yr Author abit like the #10, then, no? Gerrard's had a good year. Scored his most goals ever last season iirc. Also hit 100 Liverpool goals this year.
