Nice Christmas horror film here. Several families get together for Christmas but the kids fall ill one by one and develop demonic sides and turn on their parents. Looks good. Opens on Friday, 5th.

Here's one review from IMDB:

"I just got back from a screening in Dublin, Ireland - this movie was fantastic. As a horror fan it's always a treat to get to see a movie that's well written, well acted, and actually scary. It reminded me, in tone, of The Descent - the characters are excellently fleshed out, there's a good bit of nuance, and a lot of content left to be inferred rather than spelled out explicitly. Overall, it's easily the best horror film I've seen this year."

Could be pretty enjoyable.... Does sound vaguely like "Village of the Damned", adapted from John Wyndham's excellent book "The Midwych Cuckoos", it has to be said....

The fact that it's a low-budget Brit-Horror as well, means that we hopefully wont have as many naff cliches.... The guy who made this film also made "Waz", which was pretty okay as well, very moody, atmospheric, so hopefully more of the same here....

I wouldn't say it was fantastic and i wouldnt say it was totally a disaster...tho i wouldnt say rush out to see it at the cinema more of a film that you would catch on bbc2 on 12.40 on a thursday night (after newsnight and a repeat of a bbc four production)...there was some intersting ideas in it, and you tell the idea was to go for a wicker man (not neil's - the orig) or a shining type of vibe...tho it had strong overtones of the league of gentleman..and you thought that maybe they should have gone straight for the funny bone as it would have worked much much better....or for most of the cast to be brutlly murdered in the first few minutes as i found them quite annoying...as they seemed to be nothing more than a bunch of guardian reading volvo driving mid 30s - 40s boho tossers (also near the end when more random children turned up - walked out as i thought it was just taking a turn into stupidity...and if it wasnt a comedy and supposed to be a propper horror thought it was taking a turn for the worst and make ruin what i've watched before)

Ah, so this would be the reason why it got a rather "limited" release then....? I dunno, it really was a case of "blink and you'll miss it" at the Cineworld in Wood Green..... I think it lasted about a week, and then disappeared.....

Sounds like one for downloading then.....

Nah there's loads of other stuff you could download instead...I think it would work better coming back from a few Christmas beers at the local and just happen to end up watching it on BBC 2 laste at night...it does have that vibe to it....
