Why does it always turn into a arguement about the Sugababes whenever anyone mentions Girls Aloud - It's so stupid!!!!!

Now, come and tell me again that what I've said that Sugababes have sold more albums and just 200k singles less is RUBBISH.

Til now, Sugababes are the most succesful band in the UK of this century. Like it or not. Period.

Thanks for ur facts, whats very interesting about these facts if u take into account Girls Aloud have 20 singles Sugababes 23

and Girls Aloud have 6 albums to Sugababes 7 albums, the averages are quite interesting... just to even it out!?

Girls Alouds singles average is : 149,300

Sugababes singles average is: 123,782

Girls Aloud album avergae is: 565,000

Sugababes album average is: 581,510

Girls Aloud combined: 714,300 (average singles/albums)

sugababes combined: 705,292 (average singles/albums)

now no one can argue that Girls Aloud sales are much more on the rise than sugababes, so by the 7th album you would be thinking that gap is gonna close... just a thought......

The public dont recognise it because everyone knows st trinians was not a proper single and was never intended to be. It was done for a film.

Basically when someone says GA have had 19 consecutive top tens, they are just avoiding being pedantic. Its a bit like having a big swimming pool full of blue balls but theres one bluey/green ball in one corner and someone says look at my pool full of blue balls - but there will always be one little annoying twirp that has to say, that ones more turqoise than blue lol

The little twirp is right though, and is the only observant one of the bunch

So, Single Ladies cannot be considered as a top 10 in Beyonce's career?? It's just an album track...

And if Poker Face reaches top 10 next week we couldn't say it's a top 10 as it's not a proper single in the UK and just an album track...

The funniest thing of all it's that, had TTTST be top 10, ALL fans would be considering it as another of their consecutive top 10!! And you ALL know that.

That thing about "proper single", "song from a movie", "didn't have a physical release" it's just bull$h!t nowadays when the physicak singles market is almost dead and EVERY song can chart nowadays thanks to downloads, it don't matter if it's a proper single or not.

And how a song that is not even meant to be a single and chart even have a videoclip????

That song broke the record, the fans like it or not.

As a chart record this is true, and until they change the name of the singles chart that will sadly be the case from a chart rules pov

it'll be their 20th offical single release top 10 no questions!

they have had another song chart, with a video, from a film, that was download only!

its just a fact, people cant take away from the fact that of the 19 songs they've released physically from albums they promoted the songs on tv is an achievement!

and i was pleased they got a number 51 from st trillians! was an achievment!

they will get their 20th fingers crossed, and consecutive or not 20 is a great achievement! and lets not get into the big debate, people do it to rile GA fans!!! the media will write 20 number 1s and its what the general public will hear and know and because of it they will be plugged as the most succesful girl band etc!

20 number 1s?! eh? i know you like them but come on!

It did not break the record of the singles, that is still as of yet untouched.

Beyonce - Single Ladies is a further Top 10 for her but it won't be recognised as an official single, it was a b-side/album track that got heavy TV/Radio airplay.

It's all about knowing the rules between singles to album tracks/b-sides/and any other such tracks.

You say this as if there is special rules for these. Anything charting on the singles chart is considered as such. This debate was carried out in a consecutive top10 thread about a month ago. Lots of bands have had runs broken by what their fans deem as "exceptions". It was made available to download individually, a video made and aired on music TV. GA obviously don't count it as TLK CD states on the front "celebrating 20 singles" but this is completely irrelevant from a chart record PoV whether an individual band counts it or not.

^^ but no-one is disagrreing with you osker?

I admite officially that they are wrong but like i said, the media etc choose to ignore it and so i go along with them. St Trinians has been and gone now, the media class the promise as their 19th consecutive top 10 single, so for most people, thats it, end of.

You ackowledge the media are incorrect yet choose to go along with them? Thats the saddest thing i've heard all year! What a life must you lead if you choose to believe everything you read in the paper (even when you know its wrong)

End of day, i'm a chart fan and a GA fan. Their run if we are applying rules rigidly (or consider certain criteria to constitute a single e.g. a music video like St Trinian's had which was played on TV, and also Disturbia by Rihanna for a more successful example) is broken at 17, still a female group record. But we're basically squabbling over one word here; CONSECUTIVE. Take that out and its still 20 top 10s which is also a female group record! In prediction sense to try and bring this back on topic, I still think top 10, and bought my physical today which obviously will make all the difference

Sugababes sales are undervalued here. Musicweek confirmed on Girls release week that the girls had sold 2.9mil singles in the UK, plus Girls and No can Do so far would add another 200k, i.e 3.1million. See the topic on GA forum regarding this for more disscussion, and lets keep on prediction topic please

Oh ya know what, this was all just an excuse for some people to again start slating GA and comparing sugababes.

For gods sake just grow up.

I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing about past sugababes sales and st trinians ending consecutive top tens. Does is really bother you all that much!

If some fans and the public want to say that the consecutive top tens thing stands, then thats up to them, just leave it. Not all people take notice of official things but this argument got tired months ago. Its just like a load of people arguing that black is white.

This thread was supposed to be about TLK and about its chart prediction.

Ok. As I said before... let's forget Sugababes latest album. Before it was published MW reported they have sold more than 4 million albums in the UK.

Now we've got 6 albums GA (3.3 million) and 6 Suga's albums (4 million)

I get out of Suga's 23 singles the last 3, Denial, Girls, and NCD, so they have 20, like GA. 66K+162K+32K= 260K. 2,847,000 - 260K= 2,587,000 + 4 million albums = 6,587,000 copies.

Still 300k copies more than GA with the same number of single and albums. Still the most succesful girlband in the UK of the 21st century.

And that taking into account that I have underestimated a bit the single sales of the Sugababes.

^^ this is not a sugababes vs GA thread.

This is about The loving kind.

Go somewhere else if you want to talk about the sugababes sales.

I really hope this can hold onto no10 by Sunday.

It hasn't budged all week which i suppose is a good sign.

Perhaps it will just scrape the top 40...

I wholeheartedly agree, and you're right there are differing opinions, but does it bother you much? You've been very active posting on the topic on this thread. I hope not, but perhaps you should resist being baited by those who fancy a flame war in future.

Where do you think TLK will land now then? Any advance? I haven't even read the mids yet today! :o

Perhaps, it kinda already did though.

No it didn't.

Why would you lie about such things robintime11?

I have only been posting because it annoys me that some people are constantly on others backs everytime they say something. I'd like to hope that the issues get over with once and for all but they never do, they always get brought back up again.

But anyway, i think it will stick at 10. And i hope it does. Not for a consecutive thing, i dont care about that. I want them to get 20 top tens full stop. If they dont do it now, they will do it with next album but now would be good lol

No it didn't.

Why would you lie about such things robintime11?

I think i just want to be one of the crowd

This whole thread just exploded. :o

BACK ON TRACK: I hope The Loving Kind stays Top 10. I bought two copies online from UK retails earlier. That's my bit done since I can't do downloads.

I think i just want to be one of the crowd

As Miley Cyrus would say, nobody's perfect, you just got to work it, again and again until you get it right.

Such deep meaning in the world of Miley.

Oh yes, wise words.

I feel so accepted now.
