Posted December 4, 200816 yr Coldplay have won seven nominations for 2009's Grammy awards, leading a strong British showing at US music's most prestigious awards ceremony. The record of the year award will fall into British hands, with Leona Lewis, Adele, Robert Plant and M.I.A. joining Coldplay on the shortlist. Adele and Duffy will compete for best new artist and Radiohead join Plant and Coldplay in the album of the year list. US rapper Lil' Wayne leads the overall nominations with eight. Plant and Radiohead have five nominations each, Adele has four. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 8 February. Global success Coldplay won best alternative album Grammys for their first two releases, and their fourth album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends - released in June - has been a global success. Viva La Vida has been massive stateside, so i'm pretty sure they'll win some awards. The Grammy's have WAY too many awards though, and so many are pointless! :lol: I do expect them to win best Rock song and best International Rock album.
