Yeah, it'd be turned into the bland ballad -_- Plus Caroline is so loved in Sweden. I'm thinking if Caroline won in Sweden she only could stand a chance for doing well provided that she would qualify. {like in MF - she only got to Second Chance round and finished 2nd overally!!!}

The whole world should know about Caroline!

loved is an understatement...absolutely adored and obsessed over would be more apt :w00t: it's a grower of a song but does take at least 5 or 6 listens, whereas Malena is absolutely instant and perfect for Eurovision

It took me about 4 listens for the song to grow upon me. I blame you because you gotinto it first :kink:

I remember it clicking all of a sudden when I was watching Andra Chansen...it suddenly felt like it would be the most likely candidate to move through to the final! and so it did! when I first heard it I thought it was bland and that it shouldn't have even got to Andra Chansen...

I didn't even listen to it in full before the time i started adoring, except one time, when i was in the bus being unable to reach my player to turn it off

who knows, when everyone realises that La Voix is basically a beefed up Eurodance version of Nessun Dorma, perhaps it will be disqualified and Caroline will go to Eurovision after all
Is it? :o But i doubt it'll happen. Even Womanizer in the Ukranian National Final wasn't noticed to be a 98% copy of the original. And, as Tom stated, one entry from Russian national final, has been released in October last year so it is meant to be considered ineligible for entering in the contest. But noone noticed or didn't want to noticce that. :(

well the melodies are similar but not exact

I have been getting very much into Sarah Dawn Finer's 2007 entry I Remember Love in the last couple of days, lovely song

stepping out of the Caroline Af Ugglas hype bubble in Sweden and looking at it properly, Snalla Snalla really would have been an awful entry for Sweden wouldn't it :heehee:

as fantastic as it is, I just can't see who its audience would be and it would surely have seen Sweden missing the final for the first time since the new rules kicked in!?!

What are you on about?! :o Hungary 2007 proved there was a market for this kind of thing :(

I think i have recently been reading exactly the same sentence elsewhere on some forum :kink:

Madgi sang in English as far as I'm concerned :P

that was in English -_- and was more instant than Snalla Snalla

I just re-listened to that fantastic song. It's much more powerful than Snalla Snalla as are Madgi's vocals ;o
My Irish teacher loved Hungary 2007. :heehee: She wouldn't shut up about it!
it was a very very good song...I wasn't a fan before the contest, but after her performance (and the bus stop gimmick :heehee:) I was converted  I love the 'in-rewind' music video as well on the official 2007 DVD

Hungary 2007 was lovely  And Molitva destroys the language barrier argument :smoke::P

Although Molitva WAS fantastic, and rather instant...

Molitva had many things going for it...although I didn't think it would win to be fair, I had it down for a top 3 certainty though...but let me put this question to you...what would do better in modern era ESC...a weird Swedish Janis Joplin quirky type forgettable on first listen ballad, or an instantly memorable ethnic Serbian traditional ballad :P

The latter: instantly memorable, appeals to a tradition prevalent in several neighbouring nations as well as with links to other traditions around Europe etc.

Hungary 2007 could've been dismissed as a quirky forgettable on first listen ballad - all Caroline needs is a gimmick a la bus stop! :P

They would not DARE to spoil the amazing original performance -_-

HAHA  Our art teacher from Hungary was talking about the Hungarian entry for 2007 all the time too

Another difference is that Magdi had a voice that could make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
