February 18, 200916 yr Well my opinions so far! Alcazar - Catchy as usual, but I can see it flopping after the safety net of the recorded backing vocals! HEAT - Will be great in the arena but not with the voters at home. So so dated. Mans - I think this is very overrated and would be an incredibly predictable entry for Sweden. Cara Mia was so much better. I hope this doesn't make it. Emila - This doesn't stand a chance but I've fallen in love with this song. It's so cute and catchy. I was quite disappointed with the second heat as a whole to be honest (also shocked about Amy Diamond getting the international jury vote!!), while many great songs didn't make it from the first heat. I loved Nina (great live performance, and I actually had to check that it wasn't a Max Martin / Dr Luke composition!) and Marie Serneholt, who should have been at least in Andra Chansen. I can understand Jonathan with Welcome To My Life not making it, but it was probably my favourite song from the first heat. Again, a sweet song with a great hook. I wonder if the international jury are trying to sink Sweden by picking the worst songs every week :heehee: I agree with all of your points actually, I predict Emilia to flop but I love it, Mans' song sounds exactly like Hero (so of course I love it :P), and I didn't realise Alcazar had pre-recorded backing vocals...I thought the song sounded incredibly good live! I'm just going to pretend that HEAT won't be there  I also agree with you about Welcome To My Life...was my 3rd favourite of semi-1 behind the two qualifiers -_-
February 18, 200916 yr I wonder if the international jury are trying to sink Sweden by picking the worst songs every week :heehee: I agree with all of your points actually I'll try to contain my amazement... :P
February 19, 200916 yr You know what I've just realised? Emilia would probably do pretty well at Eurovision. It's a shame she will get lost among the BWOs and the Alcazars of the competition.
February 19, 200916 yr You know what I've just realised? Emilia would probably do pretty well at Eurovision. It's a shame she will get lost among the BWOs and the Alcazars of the competition. she would, I agree :D but Sweden would never pick her same way that I think Sibel could have done incredibly well in ESC last year but she never stood a chance of winning MF
February 19, 200916 yr I can't wait to see the Emilia one live....not because I think she would be a fantastic live experience; purely because it's one of my favourite songs at the moment.
February 19, 200916 yr Sibel's song was AMAZING last year. Mind you, I thought Empty Room was totally overrated.
February 19, 200916 yr My Charted Melodifestivalen Songs: Alcazar - Stay The Night (#2) Marie Serneholt - Disconnect Me (#7) Going For Adds: Nina - Tick Tock (Looks Great!) Mans Zemerlow - Hope & Glory (Not His Best) Interestingly, I read that Agnes' song 'Love Love Love' was supposed to be a duet with Marie Serneholt, but instead Marie got her own solo song for the contest, and well, failed I guess :(
February 19, 200916 yr I can't wait to see the Emilia one live....not because I think she would be a fantastic live experience; purely because it's one of my favourite songs at the moment. oh yes, ever since that winter day in 1998 when I first heard Big Big World, I've dreamt of seeing Emilia live, and now the day is near :kink:
February 19, 200916 yr Sibel's song was AMAZING last year. Mind you, I thought Empty Room was totally overrated. both were fantastic for different reasons...Empty Room was more generic but had a more memorable melody, whereas That Is Where I'll Go was more dramatic
February 20, 200916 yr Anyway, here's this weeks snippets. http://svtplay.se/v/1451982/melodifestival...5412,1,f,105412 LOVING Velvet (showxs she's learnt something from the new UK remix of Chemisty, very 80s!) and EMD (reminds me of early A1 and the late 90s with all the silly bybands.. none of them have been hit with the ugly stick either). Quite like Sofia, but BWO is a bit disappointing... The rest I can take or leave, though Rigo and The Topaz Sound is definitely... different!
February 21, 200916 yr BWO Won't get threw on this song - sadly. But their new album is out soon, I cannot WAIT ^_^! Velvet, Not as good as her previous singles I have to say, but I can tell when this is performed live - it probably would be in the top half. EMD, I'm a fan, From what I've heard it has promise.. but I hope to god it doesn't go threw.
February 21, 200916 yr Disappointed by the BWO song :( E.M.D. might do well, although i don't like it. I like Mikael's song tbh! :o I Got You is HIDEOUS! Alla is quite catchy! :o Velvet's song should do well, although i don't feel anything about it on the first listen. Sofia OR Mikael and Velvet - that's my prediction for tonight ^_^
February 21, 200916 yr BWO's song is so underwhelming from the clip :nocheer: sounds like the weakest semi so far, Velvet and EMD stand out over the others though the rap song is quite odd...
February 21, 200916 yr the rap song is quite odd... It reminds me a bit of Madcon or Outkast though. TBH I kind of like it
February 21, 200916 yr reminds me more of the 90's reggae/rap that dominated the UK charts in 1994
February 21, 200916 yr that's who I was thinking of too in other news, the BWO song has grown on me quite considerably
February 21, 200916 yr Not me, I'm afraid to say. But I'm thinking Sofia might make it to AC, if not direkt til Globen :o
