Geraldine McQueen - Once Upon A Christmas Song

Following the success of Britain's got the Pop Factor and possibly the next Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice' winner Geraldine McQueen beating X Factor's Leon Jackson in the UK charts with The Winners Song, Peter Kay's transexual dinner lady Geraldine McQueen is back to battle for the Christmas number 1!

Slogging it out head to head with the X Factor winner of 2008 (whom (s)he revealed today on Radio 1's Chris Moyles show that he hopes it is fellow compatriot "little Eggnog"), Northern Ireland's Geraldine will be singing Once upon a Christmas song - again co written & produced by the legend that is Gary Barlow.

Out December 15th.

What do you think of this track? I think it is even better and more funnier than The Winner's Song

its bette rthan the last song but im not that keen on it either although the bells in th ebackround make it a tiny bit christmassy

Not too sure about it to be honest (but I've got tons of stuff going on around me at the moment so can't really listen 100% anyway). Besides ... I'm too disappointed with the crappy impact on iTunes after the show last night! :( I thought it would be a lot better given how good the show was.

Awww...don't be upset! I know how stupid is that a mimed song has more chances as a good live one :puke2: . Perhaps everybody wants to buy the album now :teresa: ....

Geraldine McQueen NSPCC Christmas Message

With the revelation that Robbie Williams sings on this Gary Barlow penned track (I'm presuming its got to be the falsetto "Over Again" bit towards the end of the song), do you think this will help or hinder its sales.

It will hinder it ... I was going to buy it ... maybe a couple of copies for Christmas presents instead of cards .... I'll just give the money to the NSPCC now!

LOL Norma, i think only you will be hindered about it. People in Uk seems to buy like crazy a song which is done for charity! . You know my opinion about charity and songs done for it - i hate the idea as i can bet is a publicity stunt and also not alll the money goes in the charity fund...(is this one an exception?

I don't like the song too much, but i much rather preffer this song instead of a bad version of Hallelujah, one of the song i love the most and which was already so good covered by Buckley, Bon Jovi, Rufus W, Sheryl Crow, etc that I don't see the point in covering with second hand singers with weak voices ( i liked only Ruth).

To be honest .... I've never, ever bought a charity song in my life! So it was quite easy for me to post that! I may make an exception in this case .... even if Robbie 'Mr Bojangles' Williams is on it. Oh and I think all the proceeds from Peter Kay's charity songs have gone to the cause in the past so I'm pretty sure this one will.

I just can't believe Rob singing on a Gary song! Why didn't Gary sing on it himself! I'd deffo buy it then!!!

TIP where was this revealed?

well robbie has sung on many many gary songs so there shouldnt be too much of a big deal

Yes but that was before Robbie said Gary was a 'clueless w*n**r' and a 'crappy songwriter' ... and then going on to sing Guy Chambers' songs instead. I don't believe a word of Robbie's 'nice' words on his blog ... he's scheming something like he always has.

I think Robbie is very unstable in his oppinions. I read the Feel book and it seems that every 5 minutes he think other way about something.

I think only about Mark he has always nice words.

There are two posibilities: that he believe genuinely what he writes and i think that (because Mark is in TT and Robbie has also in the past written nice things about Mark's songs). The second posibility is that he is working on his comeback and he knows that he is looked at as being snob and bad with TT when they wanted to return. He needs good press for the new album after the bad last one. He cannot afford to flop with the new one (but he won't flop regardless the quality of music, he will have even records after records: media is crazy with "comebacks" , so they will hyper and talk months about the new album and speculate and make it big like the last Britney songs and album)

The only thing I really hate is that this news about Robbie are coming out always when TT is doing something big, like with the Brits 2007 and now at having the album at no 1 smashing records. Why i hate? That instead TT being spoken about themselves and thier music they are only spoken because Robbie. I am tired of that! Sure that the news goes around the world when Robbie is in it, so they get much publicity outside UK. But i am tired!

I think Rob is very clear on what he says ... he meant every word of every insult. And he has the nerve to go on about how 'things have been hard for him'. He didn't give a second thought to what Gary Barlow was feeling when he chose to humiliate him at every turn ... most notably in front of millions of TV viewers at the Brit Awards. He is a scheming, manipulative, nasty little man who uses people. It is debatable that he even wrote Angels for heaven's sake (even though that would put him up in my estimation because the song is sh/te!)

You are right about one thing though. Whatever the quality of his album (once he's found someone to write it for him) it will be lauded as the best thing since sliced bread and it will sell by the truckload! The media will once again hail Robbie the Hero and they'll find nothing but nasty things to say about Take That.

As you've guessed ... I detest the man!

Norma

i agree and i hated what robbie did to gary nad that always put me of him and always stopped me buying his material i found robbie so so nasty that time and that is a trait i cannot just forget about when i see it in someone
