It's quite bright here today. Husband and two friends have gone off on a "Last Of The Summer Wine" outing into Manchester, by train, to visit the Manchester Art Gallery. They are calling for a pub lunch on route so whether or not they reach the gallery remains to be seen. I have my doubts! Sue

Solrry - we've had another day of sunshine. We did have rain overnight on 2 nights though. It's funny because while I was in the north, the weather here was terrible. Maybe that's why they're pleased to see me back.

Spam, you shouldn't be eating your mother-in-law for lunch. She's just too big for a meal for one.

I should be in bed.....just been letting the dogs out.

They seem to have this alarm clock for 4am :(

Ours has for 3:30. I bet it's him who wakes the birds up. he has to go back to the vets tomorrow. He keeps falling over.

Afew years back I used to see an old lady dragging a cart with a dog sitting in it. The dog loved it. The old lady always

looked shattered. Hope Dane improves.

Mum didn't switch it off after talking to my brother in Canada - I just hope he phoned her. She pressed the green button instead of the red button which ends the call.

Dane is going tomorrow morning. If they can't stop epilepsy in humans, it's a bit worrying as they wont be able to in dogs.

Hope it's positive news at the vets
I hate when my pets are ill. At least humans can tell you how they're feeling and what they think they'd like to do/see/eat etc. and they can let off steam by having a good moan.

Please let us know how Dane has gone on when you get time Meg.

Should be "supervising" husband replacing my wheel trims after some kind person stole them all last night! I know my car is getting on in years, a bit like me, but it still made me really angry. We also felt our age in the motor spares shop when we asked for replacement hubcaps and were met by blank faces. Eventually an assistant said did we mean wheel trims? Sue

That's dreadful, Sue. We just have to wait for Dane's results now. The vet knows something new is wrong but just isn't sure what. They give him liver while they're taking blood - so Dane thinks the whole thing is a treat. He is a daft dog.

Hope you have some long thick leather gloves (garden type) BT , for when you give the pills to your cats!!!

At least Dane swallows his.......hope the blood test results are good, Meg.

Oh dear, Sue, I too thought they were still called hub-caps. I think the luxury cars have these bolted on........but then they

would steal the whole car!! What a shame people can't leave things alone.

I'm OK with the little one. I took him by surprise and it was down his throat before he'd time to realise what I was doing. I dare say he'll get wise to it sooner or later.

I managed to get one of those syringe shaped pill holders this morning at the Pets At Home shop. I hope it will help me get the capsule far enough back in the big one's mouth to stop him spitting it out again and prevent him getting stressed.

Today I've got green fingers and its nothing to do with gardening.

I like cardmaking and scrapbooking but the one thing I've always shied away from is stamping and heat embossing.

I had a go again today and the pigment ink got all over my hands. The embossing powder is so fine, everywhere I look there's a hint of glitter. A child could have done better!

I think I'd be wiser to stick to decoupage, quilling, peel-offs, paper piecing and matting and layering in the future.

You must have loads of patience, and very nimble fingers BT.

Decoupage used to be very popular a few years ago, but is seldom heard of now......people don't seem to have the time nowadays.

I have lots of photos that need sorting and putting in an album if ever I find the time.

I wish I'd sat down with my parents and documented the heap of family photos from previous generations.

I have loads of old studio photos which are wonderful but I haven't a clue who most of the people in them are. It's such a shame.

Here's sending huge ((hugs)) for all the pets,i hope they all get better soon, its horrid seeing our pets ill :(

That's one thing I really regret not spending time talking to my parents and other elderly family members about our family history, and now it's too late. I've been trying to research the family and there's nobody to ask when you hit a problem. Also, like you, there's all these fantastic old studio photos and nobody knows who the people are. Sue

My Nan had a stroke when she was 90. Everyone took turns with her that could. I leaned more about the family then than in all the other years I'd known her. She was given to a family in exchange for horse feed when she was a child and was to be in service to them for her life - and then ended up marrying the youngest son. Amazing what you hear about.
