I should be trying to sort out banking problems. I had a phone call at 8:30 this morning to say I'd missed a payment in my credit card. I'd just changed banks and I went mad at them not making sure their direct debit was active before the previous banks was cancelled. They were supposed to do all the transfers. After about half an hour, it turned olut that they had and didn't know why things weren't working.

 

I phoned the credit card company back. After 40 minutes and 4 departments, it seems that they always close down direct debits on cards that have gone astray in the post and you have to restart them when you have the new card. At no time was I told this and nothing in the paperwork for the new card tells you this. I'm not a happy bunny.

Why is life so complicated? You can almost guarantee that when dealing with banks, insurance, credit cards or the tax people things always go wrong. Hope you get sorted Meg, before you tear your hair out!! Sue

Just to add - I'm safer on here than trying to phone anyone else at the moment.

I've just been looking at the new release thread. It looks as if it may stop. I'll really miss it if it does. Like a lot of people, I just knew it was their and didn't appreciate the effort taken to do it.

 

I should be tidying up but it'd only get worse again.

Am waiting for plumber number 6 to arrive!! Plumber number 5 was highly recommended and seemed really nice, but after two weeks we're still waiting for his estimate. What is it about plumbers? When we moved into the house over 10 years ago the plumber who was installing the downstairs cloakroom set fire to the door with a blow touch! :rolleyes: Sue
