I should be checking current prices for Combi boilers. When I got back, the pilot light had gone out on mine and after two failed attempts to relight it, the boiler exploded on the third. I got the emergency engineer in and he's made it safe by isolating the gas so it no longer passes through the boiler.

Sounds expensive! :( Sue

I had scheduled a new boiler in for the end of 2009 anyway, Sue, so I'm quite chilled about it. I'll just shuffle a few financial bits around.

Our top floor water heater is playing up. It doesn't like wind. What a nice thing to come home too. Better than water though - that'd have you screaming.

I should be supervising the kids eating and watching a dvd at the same time.

tell the wind to keep away from your water heater

When we were re-roofed we had vents put in instead of the old chimneys which weren't in a great state of repair. Ever since, if there's a really high wind, I get a rattling sound in the wall behind the fireplace. It made me jump out of my seat the first time I heard it, now I just turn the sound up.

I'm still waiting for Scottish Gas to get back to me. Same old, same old. The person I spoke to yesterday promised to but didn't actually pass on my enquiry to the department who arrange the preliminary visits. When I got through to them an hour ago, they had to contact someone else and leave a message for him/her to get back to them before they can give me a date or time.

Perhaps they like demonstrating their little bit of power ?
Need to help put some new plants in the garden before we get the thunder storms they promised. It's gone really dark now! Sue

I'm hoping for a couple of dry days on the trot so the grass underneath will be dry enough to cut with my cheap hover mower.

Today is a national holiday so I'm not going to feel guilty about spending it as I choose. Boring things no matter how seemingly important or urgent can wait!

Have bought loads of bedding plants..........and it's raining. They'll have to wait.
We're lucky, we've had 3 beautiful days. I should be sitting downstairs watching rubbish TV with my Mum, my sister-in-law and my neice. I've escaped.
I should be out in the garden, putting in bedding plants.
I should grab an early night. The others have gone salsa dancing and I've just put Mum to bed.
Should be making sure son forgets nothing. He's busy packing the car. Off to the Lake District for a week. Sue

I should be winning the lottery - any one will do. I just don't seem to be any good at it at all.
