I should be cleaning up in the kitchen, bathroom and toilet.

Fortunately my iron has no fingers so doesn't beckon. Just as well as I don't have to ignore it.

Amazingly enough - I should be cooking.

Have"gone off" husband. It's a lovely day and I wanted to sort out the front garden but I need help and he's gone to a vintage car rally. Sue
And you were surprised? I should be watching TV with Mum but have escaped up here.

Actually he came back early and we got some done. He does have his good points!

Glad you managed to escape Meg. Sue

I shouldn't be cooking. I've nearly finished packing as I'm taking my Mum North tomorrow. It's a sad time for her as she's had to acknowlege that she can't live on her own anymore and we're putting her bungalow on the market. Everything takes so long to sell these days that she may have another trip back before it goes.
Sorry your mums upset Meg. It's a really hard thing to come to terms with. Hope the bungalow sells quickly . They do say that because there are not as many bungalows for sale, those on the market do tend to sell quicker. I've noticed that round here more houses seem to be going up for sale now so perhaps things are looking up . Sue

I should be taking the dogs out but busy on the phone sorting moving dates....and looking here as well.

I'm pleased everything seems to be coming along so well, Pam..........sounds like you'll soon be settling in your

new home. Hope you've been able to see Meg and her Mum. Maybe you will be able to relieve the stress.

I hope Neil has settled in at Joseph Stones and is enjoying making new friends and starting his course.

We are trying to balance decorating and gardening.

Plumber number 4 is here at the moment but I need to go out and buy a birthday card. Sue
For the plumber? First estate agent called today, Mum seemed fine about the price but my brother thinks it's way too low. That's what prices are around here.

That's the problem with the north, prices are so low....but if you are buying then that's great!!

If her home was in our area I'd expect a lot more....you have to look at the area not the home....................if you understand my meaning.

I should be going to bed as I'm at work in the morning.

Meg, I reckon your brother is out of touch with prices where your Mum lives.
So do I. The majority of houss seem to be under £200,000 and Mum's bungalow hasn't had anything major done to it since it was built in the mid sixties. It has two patches of damp - one cured and the other not. We're too far away to chase up doing it, so it was never going to go for top price. A perfect bungalow of the same type is going for £145,000. There used to be waiting lists to get these as they became vacant as they are so well built, but there aren't waiting lists for anything anymore. If we could transplant such a pretty bungalow to the area we live in, it'd fetch about £350,000
It's so true what you say Meg. There's a huge difference in the price of property from area to area around here and especially so from north of the country to the south. Unfortunately for your Mum it's a buyers market at present. They do say that bungalows are still popular though because they are usually built on a bigger plot. Sue
I think a lot of people like the lack of stairs. I think stairs hep keep you fit. Still, even if the next valuation is higher, I think it would be unrealistic for this time. I should be going to bed.
Ahhh!. Just hope your little eyes are OK now. Been not a good day and the bungalow looks a mess. It's really hard getting rid of things. I think Mum has clothes she hasn't worn in 30 yrs. I have no idea what I should be doing as everything I could do would wake Mum up. She doesn't even like me having the tv on.
very hard for you Meg but you can't take much with you as you have no space in your place.
