Some of you might know this Portuguese/Angolan group from the collab they did with MIA:

They are absolutely all over the place here in Lisbon and I've heard that they're creeping into the scene in the UK. They won the best Portuguese act at the EMAs and performed there too.

TBH, I don't really like this whole Kuduro genre, but with MIA on board I can see it taking off in the clubs, it's very rave-y.

Buraka Som Sistema's album got a really good review on Launch saying that it sounds fresh, but IMO it's a bit of a mess...

I've heard they're very good live and I can imagine it'd be a pretty good party. My housemate at the moment actually did some video art for them last time they played Lisbon and said it was class. If they play here again next year I'll defo try and see them, maybe it'll make me appreciate them more.

I haven't actually listened to their album yet. I might download it and give it a try. I prefer their new single Kalemba to Sound of Kuduro. To be honest, it's MIA who annoys me on that track...

They're very big here in Porto too, although they arent really my thing. I've heard a few of their tracks being played on Radio 1 so yeah, I think they're crossing over.
