Posted December 12, 200816 yr Producers have confirmed that a remake of classic horror movie Nightmare On Elm Street has been given the green light. Horror movie veterans Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, responsible for films including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Amityville Horror, told ShockTillYouDrop that a revamp is definitely happening. "It's our next movie," said Form. "Hopefully shooting this spring." Transformers' Michael Bay will also take on production duties. Cape Fear writer Wesley Strick is reportedly attached to the new script, but the producers have assured fans that they won't be altering the storyline dramatically. "It's not Freddy cracking jokes. We want to make a horrifying movie," said Fuller. "The concept is so scary, don't fall asleep or you'll die. This guy gets you when you're most vulnerable, in your sleep. "We love that. That's the basis of the movie. It'll be most similar to the first one but in terms of kills and dreams we'll borrow from the entire series." The producers have credited a good response to another horror movie remake as sealing the deal. Friday The Thirteenth has been revamped for a release next year, with Bay again at the helm, and the producers have claimed that early audience screenings have been very positive. Original Nightmare star Robert Englund earlier ruled out a possible return to play Freddy Krueger but the producers have revealed that they are hopeful he might still appear in another role. oh dear :( if this is anything like the Texas remake then i fear for the franchise.... :(
December 12, 200816 yr If Robert Englund does not come back for this then its just pointless in my opinion. Why do they have to touch classic 80s horror. I must admit I did love the first half of the Halloween remake though.

December 13, 200816 yr I did to. The first half of the Halloween re-make (child years) was really 'interesting'?. Or worth watching anyway. I love the Elm Street series, so I'll obviously watch this. Hopefully they wont do what the ending Elm Street films did, turn Freddy into some comedic character. Totally killed the movie.
December 13, 200816 yr Two words here make me absolutely dread the very thought of this - "Michael Bay".... I mean, sorry, but just about everything he's been involved in is a big pile o' sh!te...... He ruined The Transformers, has directed cr@p film after cr@p film - Pearl Harbour, The Island, Armageddon, Bad Boys 2 are all UTTER SH!T..... As for his "producing" credits.... Er, well, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Amityville Horror and The Hitcher.... I rest my case...... This man is to the Horror genre what Hitler was to race relations..... Michael Bay, is to quote Bill Hicks - a "SUCKER OF SATAN'S C0CK...."

I love the fact you choose films that are quite huge blockbusters  Transformers, Pearl Harbour, Armageddon... I remember Michael Bay getting a lot of praise for his work on Transformers though... This infuriates me. Remakes suck. really? :manson:
December 13, 200816 yr I remember Michael Bay getting a lot of praise for his work on Transformers though... Not from anyone who fondly remembers the 80s animated series or the comics, or indeed the excellent Japanese Manga version as well..... Bay just completely and utterly sidelines The Transformers for, er, QUITE A LOT of the film, completely robbing us of their character and complex inter-relationships (such as NO mention of the rivalry between Starscream and Megatron), it's a dumbfukk action movie for the YouTube generation.... "Armageddon" and "Pearl Harbour" especially is just Americanised, cliched, flag-waving trash..... What Clint Eastwood did with HIS two films about the American/Japanese conflict was marvellous, the total antidote to "Pearl Harbour"....
December 13, 200816 yr Author Yeah now that you mentioned it, the film was quite pointed towards Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox' characters. I think though with the sequel, they are bringing in more of the Transformers war...
December 14, 200816 yr Yeah now that you mentioned it, the film was quite pointed towards Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox' characters. Megan Fox... What a fukkin' waste of space she was.... A bit of collagen pouting and wearing short skirts was about the extent of her "acting" in that film.... Shia was okay, but even he struggled to make the absolutely awful script seem more exciting than it was....

As much as i like Megan Fox, i think she is a very same-y "actor" very much like Kaley Cuoco. When Megan Fox was on Hope & Faith she played the stereotypical dumb (even though she wasnt blonde...) blonde and i think thats the type of roles she can only play. How To Lose Friends and Alienate People is an impossible film to critique her performance  She didnt do much in the film and i think the biggest piece of slightly proper acting in the whole film would probably at the end when shes attacking Simon Pegg... Shia for me has gone from strength to strength IMO. From the early days of Even Stevens to Disturbia and Eagle Eye. I guess Revenge Of The Fallen will be the decider as to where the franchise can be taken... Edited December 14, 200816 yr by Joao Filipe
December 14, 200816 yr . Shia for me has gone from strength to strength IMO. From the early days of Even Stevens to Disturbia and Eagle Eye. I guess Revenge Of The Fallen will be the decider as to where the franchise can be taken... Wasn't she just basically playing herself....?  Sorry, I really dont have much time for the likes of her, yeah, she might be a bit "pretty", but in 15 years time, the looks are gonna go, FHM, Nuts and Maxim aint gonna be calling her up anymore to do soft-porn photo shoots, and she aint gonna be able to fake it anymore.... She'll actually have to prove she can act.... Something Angelina Jolie has done incredibly well in "Changeling", but then, Angelina always could act (ie, in her pre-A List days such as 'Gia' and 'Girl, Interrupted'), she just chose not to for the past decade.... Megan Fox, I dont think she can act....
December 14, 200816 yr Author ^ I think the Mother Theresa sub-film in How To Lose Friends... just went to prove how bad she can be  Although im sure that it was done on purpose... If not then LMFAO. Just reading up on her on Wiki, Michael Bay told her to gain 10lbs for Transformers 2  Edited December 14, 200816 yr by Joao Filipe
December 15, 200816 yr Michael Bay told her to gain 10lbs for Transformers 2  Oh GOD, that's her buggered for the FHM/Nuts photoshoots then... She'll be considered "too fat" by that bunch of body fascists.....
December 15, 200816 yr Sick of all these remakes, why can't scriptwriters and producers think of something ORIGINAL :manson:
December 15, 200816 yr Author Sick of all these remakes, why can't scriptwriters and producers think of something ORIGINAL :manson: I think its mainly cos of the writers strike. Hollywood did say that there would be a lack of films for the next year or so and thats why we are gonna be having so many rushed films and mainly remakes in the next year or so.
December 16, 200816 yr I think its mainly cos of the writers strike. Oh come on, that's a cop out.... There weren't no writers strike in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, and we had a FISTFUL of remakes in those years..... And how does a writers' strike stop the thousands and thousands of "undiscovered" writers out there...? Do you actually KNOW how many unsolicited scripts Hollywood studios get every year....? There is literally mountains of material.. Nah, it's BS mate, Hollywood would rather regurgitate the same cr@p over and over than check out some of the original stuff that they haven't even bothered to read.... The Writers Strike should have been a chance really for some of the undiscovered talent who scribe away in the diners and cafes of Hollywood, who wouldn't give a toss about the strike cos they're not part of the Writers' Guild, to have actually been discovered....
December 16, 200816 yr Author ^I have no comeback to that  I was going to say that if undiscovered writers came up and got movies made, wouldnt that have completely ruined the point of the strike?? I dunno if youve heard before but its called Scabbing. E.g. If the cleaners at your work place were to have a strike then you wouldnt clean the your work area as a sign of respect to the protest of the cleaners. And so for an undiscovered writer to scoop in and take advantage would be Scabbing.. Edited December 16, 200816 yr by Joao Filipe
