January 6, 200916 yr I quite enjoyed this, and I was sceptical that I would as it looked like (and was) a total rip off of loads of other shows. WTF at the bloke from Life On Mars accent though?! I really don't like Glenister's accent in this! Is he supposed to be American? I'll never complain about Dick Van Dyke's Cockney accent in Mary Poppins again! Norma
January 8, 200916 yr What a load of PISH.....  Has to be the worst, most poorly written show since "Bonekickers", but at least "Bonekickers" had a so-cr@p-it's-hilarious quality about it, "Demons" is just cr@p.... I saw absolutely no point at all in drafting in a named actor like McKenzie Crook just to have him killed off in about 15 minutes, truly pathetic.... What, was 15 minutes of Crook's time all they could actually afford....? Richard Wilson's in the next episode, oh dear... I expect to see him in it for about 10 minutes as well.... This is such a lame-ass rip off of Buffy they even went so far as to name the "mentor" dude 'Rupert'.....ROFLMAO..... About the only vaguely interesting character in this show is Mina Harker, and this is really only because of the literary origins from Bram Stoker.... A show with her might be interesting... Oh, and where do the "writers" of this piece of garbage get off having a go at Bram Stoker....? Er, yeah, Stoker DID base "Dracula" on historical legends, folk tales, etc, but Stoker's work was at least original insofar as it was the first novel of its type and at least it was half-decent literature in its construction, writing and structure.... If you want to see a really excellent, well written, well acted Supernatural Thriller series, I suggest you all go on i-Player and watch the superb "Apparitions", which takes "The Exorcist" as a central premise, but really takes the whole 'exorcism' and 'possesion' themes in very interesting directions.... "Demons" is just retarded garbage for braindead 12 year olds who think that Dr Who is too "high brow" for them...... -_-
January 8, 200916 yr I saw this last night on ITV2, not really a great fan of it, its effects are nothing like Buffy-ish, I'm going to stick with it and see how it goes along since its only a 6 part series. Seems Demons have taken the Primeval slot, probably Primeval has got a March release this year since Dr. Who is limited to specials for the year. Zoe Tapper is an excellent young actress after seeing her on Survivors, hope she gets better roles for other TV programmes. And when Kaiser Chiefs belted out Ruby, I actually cracked up.
January 8, 200916 yr Zoe Tapper is an excellent young actress after seeing her on Survivors, hope she gets better roles for other TV programmes. She is actually isn't she....? She was in the rather under-rated (and certainly better than this crud) "Hex" as well for a few parts.... I liked her in "Survivors" too... Potential for maybe her being the new "Doctor's Assistant"...? Would certainly be a better choice than Lily Allen or Michelle bloody Ryan..... If I do watch the rest of this series, it'll be downloads or streaming... I certainly do NOT want to contribute to ITV's viewing figures for this show in order for them to justify a second series.....
January 14, 200916 yr Hmmmm. No one commenting on the second episode.....? Does this mean that everyone on BJ has stopped watching it.....?
January 14, 200916 yr I've liked both episodes so far, nothing amazing but its good. All the pre-air bumming and masses of hype about this show, and now, a third of the way through the series, this is really about the best thing anyone can actually say about it..... "nothing amazing" indeed....
January 14, 200916 yr And when Kaiser Chiefs belted out Ruby, I actually cracked up. And it was in a section about a character called… Ruby. I thought my friend Ruby lacked imagination when she chose that song as her ringtone.
January 14, 200916 yr i had the misfortune to watch it last week.... i thought it was p*** poor nonsense. nuff said.

February 26, 200916 yr BIG budget vampire drama Demons is set to be axed — after its star Philip Glenister quit. ITV’s Saturday night sci-fi series cost millions to make. It was launched amid a big fanfare last month and kicked off with more than six million viewers. But the show soon slumped in the ratings, losing three million viewers over its brief run. The final nail in the coffin was when Philip, 46, refused to return for another series. The actor, best known for playing tough-talking DCI Gene Hunt in the top-rated Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, had come under fire from the critics for a dodgy American accent as vampire hunter Rupert Galvin. Philip had revealed: “Rupert was written as a Texan originally and I thought b*****ks to that — I’m not playing a Texan. “They said I could play him as English, but I wanted to have the challenge of playing an American.” A TV source said: “ITV spent millions on Demons — but things have not worked out. Philip made it clear he would not come back. He’s busy filming, with a second series of Ashes to Ashes and has other shows in the pipeline. “It’s a shame, but it’s a tough time for TV — there is just not the money to spend on big projects and then continue if they’re not immediately a success.” A spokesperson for ITV said: "No decision has yet been taken on the recommissioning of Demons. The series hasn't been axed - it ran its series and the second series decision was not due to be taken yet." Earlier this year, ITV axed a £4million adaptation of EM Forster’s A Passage To India to save cash. Can't say I'll be missing it, tbh. (Mind you, they are - to be brutally honest - skint.) February 27, 200916 yr It wasn't great, but it had potential I think. Zoe Tapper was excellent. Wish they went on ahead with series without PG. His "american" accent ruined the show from the minute it started. Shame, but not a massive loss.
February 27, 200916 yr It wasn't great, but it had potential I think. Well, we might have had a second series of it if (a) it wasn't rubbish, and (b) all of ITV's shares combined weren't worth less than their programming division. Edited February 27, 200916 yr by DitzyNizzy
March 6, 200916 yr Cant say I really blame Glenister for quitting the show tbh, I think it was one of those "seemed like a good idea at the time" sorts of things.... I think he's clearly far more focussed on "Ashes to Ashes" than he was on this rubbish, I mean, he wasn't even trying with Demons....
