Falco Naked: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=KkZhyHvtmAY Falco - Cyberlove: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29p2FJvqJ_U&NR=1 10 years after his death an artist who like elvis is still massive in his home country...with a funeral i guess only nearly matched by Jörg Haider...providing Austria's Diana moment, the GSA regions 2pac...i give you Johann Hölzel - Falco... found a falco dvd this week and bought it as i couldnt believe that the video for naked got through the british censors unrated - from the clip of this techno-pop eurodance record that was shown on tv as couple of years back seemed to just feature Falco's face protected on loads of random boobs - and so going one further than any Ministry of sound video has so far...but i suppose thats the GSA region for you... and the video has over tones of a carry on version of the last virgin media advert (the one with mel B) but starring Anthony Stewart Head singing along to Right Said Fred as remixed by U96... Of the other songs on the video the best tunes at the moment are Titanic, Push! Push! and The Sound of Musik..which are shown above. He is actually quite a fascinatingly odd character in the way that he moves (esp in the sound of musik) like a cross between Andy McCluskey, suggs and david byrne after doing a bushtucker trial which has featured loads of insects being dropped into his pants. think he's most famous in the states for a song called Der Kommissar which with Nena are like the only german language top ten hits ever there (no rammstein amerika!!!???) well here's some versions of Der Kommissar - including a english version by Laura Branigan...which sounds like it has influnced Annie esp in something like Me Plus One... Rock Me Amadeus is alright I guess..but the Bolland Project tribute to Falco (so its a tribute to a dead austrian based upon his own song which is a tribute to a dead austrian) done by what seems like a bad europop TLC is best left on the extras part of the dvd...The Sound of Musik is much better...and esp since at some parts of the video its looks like Charlie Brooker singing...
