December 17, 200816 yr Author I've added 'But Seriously' - Phil Collins, (1989), to the List - at No.6. NOTE - THESE? (Does Anyone Know?) Someone - elsewhere - has suggested that these Albums may well have sold a UK Million in less than 50 Days. Does anyone know how long they took to reach a UK Million? (It is MJDangerous, at UKMIX, who has suggested these - the words are his):, The following albums also sold over a million in less than 50 days: 1) 'Spice' by Spice Girls (1.78 million in 58 days according to the Year End Chart) (1996) 2) 'Ladies and Gentlemen' by George Michael (1.52 million in 52 days) (1998) 3) 'Swing When You're Winning' by Robbie Williams (1.49 million in 43 days) (2001) 4) 'Escapology' by Robbie Williams (1.41 million in 44 days) (2002) Other possible entries: 5) 'Bad' by Michael Jackson (1.65 million in 1987) 6) 'Dangerous' by Michael Jackson (#5 of 1991 in 36 days) 7) 'Greatest Hits II' by Queen (#3 of 1991 in 63 days) 8) 'Curtain Call' by Eminem (926k in 26 days) (2005) Edited December 17, 200816 yr by zeus555
December 17, 200816 yr Will Young - Friday's Child(1/12/03) - reached 1,003,350 on 3rd February 2004 - so I make that about 62 days. It went 2X platinum in 12 days. Sorry to be so precise but this was the figure posted posted by MW. :D Edited December 17, 200816 yr by munchkin
December 17, 200816 yr As if you didn't know that already Jez! :P if only they could command those kind of sales now- how long will DOYS take to reach 1m do you think (if at all)? (i bought it after your recommendation and hearing Outta Time btw, its pretty good- very typical of their earlier stuff, but there are some new twists IMHO)

(i bought it after your recommendation and hearing Outta Time btw, its pretty good- very typical of their earlier stuff, but there are some new twists IMHO) actually i thought it was 17days ;) but it makes sense that it was 11days as its 7th days say sale was 813,000. i dont think DOYS will hit a million we shall see it probably will hover around 600k-700k mark for a bit. glad you bought the album ... it definitely has a twist a few songs that are pretty un oasis like (to be where theres life, soldier on, get off your high horse lady) but for me falling down is immense 3rd single BTW ;) also the turning, bag it up,waiting for the rapture are songs that have that be here now vibe (Which i think is a great album ). It's a great album but I agree that it will stall at around 650k. :(
December 17, 200816 yr It's a great album but I agree that it will stall at around 650k. :( I doubt it would have sold as much has it has, if it wasn't so cheap to buy online and reduced in the shops, I think their album just got lost with all the hype focused on the other "flavours of the year" bands.
