Entered chart w/e 14/12/85

Reached No.9 w/e 21/12/85

Weeks on chart : 5

Released as a double A-side with "My Hometown", the final single to be taken from the "Born In The USA" album.

Springsteen's version of the festive favourite was recorded live in New York on 12/12/75. I remember my uncle playing it to me from one of his bootlegs in the early '80s so it was nice to see it finally get an official release.

The song itself was originally recorded by George Hall in 1934, and has also been a UK hit for the Jackson Five, the Carpenters and Bjorn Again, though Bruce's was the biggest, and quite rightly so.
