THIS is the man accused of stalking Irish songstress Enya at her Co Dublin castle over a five-month period earlier this year.

 

Englishman Roger Jones (62) is charged with harassing singer, song-writer and composer Enya, real name Eithne Brennan, at her Dalkey home on dates unknown between March 5 and July 30 last.

 

Dun Laoghaire District Court heard that Jones, with an address at Grand Parade, West Hoe, Plymouth, has spent the last month as an involuntary patient in Newcastle Hospital in Co Wicklow.

He discharged himself from hospital last Wednesday and is currently living in a homeless shelter on James Street, Dublin 8.

 

Unfit

Defence solicitor Ronnie Lynam said Jones's condition has improved but that his fitness to plead needs to be resolved.

Mr Lynam said a previous psychiatric report from October found that Jones was unfit to be tried for the offence before the court.

Judge Hugh O'Donnell ordered an updated medical report, saying a report should be available by next February.

The judge said the report should focus on Jones' fitness to plead.

Jones was remanded on continuing bail to appear back before Dun Laoghaire court this Friday, when he must provide full details of an Irish address.

Singer Enya is currently in New York, and is scheduled to perform on ABC's Live With Regis and Kelly show today, singing a selection from her recently-released album And Winter Came.

 

Jones is not the first person to be accused of stalking the 47-year-old.

In 1997, an Italian man with a picture of Enya tied round his neck walked trance-like around Dublin before stabbing himself outside the pub in Donegal owned by her parents.

 

 

Panic

In 2005, a man broke into her castle, tied up a maid, then spent two hours hunting the artist.

She hid in a panic room and activated an alarm. A week later, another man broke into the grounds, but failed to get into the property.

No I hadn't heard about that misfit/nutter/weirdo either.

 

I don't know why she talks so much about her castle. I haven't a clue where most celebrities live but Enya has always been very open about the fact that she lives in a castle. I even know whereabouts it is. For someone so private I've always been surprised at the amount of discussion she allows to the fact that her home is in a castle just outside Dublin.

Well ben if you see some interviews its not Enya who brings her castle to the conversation,its the interviewers.

But in some point you are right,lots of people knows where is her castle,I was there too :rolleyes:

Yeahhh good point Ben... I have no idea where most other celebrities live but Enya is always very open about its exact location and everything.

She probably didn't expect all the stalkers... :huh: That guy is creepy and stalking is creepy.
