Interesting thought here. Do you think Sophie can be successful again? I'm not necessarily suggesting to the level of hugeness of the Read My Lips era, maybe an album selling at least 200k or something. Will her next album do it for her?

In her favour:

- She will probably still get support from Radio 1.

- Her style of music is more 'in' now than it was back when TTLF was released.

- She has celebrity status and is prominent in the public eye, which should ensure her lots of spots on TV shows if she takes them.

- She has some credibility as an artist still.

Not in her favour

- Her last two albums flopped.

- Her management team are incompetent, they may well push this project down the U-Bend just like they did with TTLF.

- Is she even that concerned about her career anymore?

All in all, I think she can do it but she will have to work extremely hard to get there, however I'm not confident about it. As much as it pains me to say it, I feel this next album really is her last chance saloon.

I hate to say this, but i really have strong doubts that Sophie will have any kind of major sucsess again. This isnt to say she wont get a minor sucsess along the line but really unless this next era works for her i just dont see the point of her carrying on if it's after 3 uncsucsesful era's.
i think it is possible but she needs to work her socks off

I would very much like her to have a successful return, even if its mediocre success. However, I think the problem is the record company. They messed up major with her last album, despite the fact it was the best thing she has done so far.

Well Murder on the dancefloor was BIG

There is still chance - I mean all it takes is that one special song

Although even her fans are getting bored with things that keep being put back and cancelled - time and time again - which wont help to be a success will it

Yes, but how she will be successful I'm not sure. I think the best way for her to get on her feet again is to release her music during the summer because pop/dance music becomes bigger at that time and then she can perform the new song at festivals and also the video may even give it a boost. Then she could probably do some sort of stunt to promote the album like maybe perform them on a 4 Music Special or make the album a pre-order thing on iTunes where you can get a song whilst you wait for it to be released

but I'm not really sure

Tbh, she hasn't had any really good songs since Read My Lips. As much as I continually say she's a flopstar and she'll never be big again, all she needs is music of the same quality as her first album, because despite minor successes with 'Catch You' and some other forgettable songs she has never matched that quality. I say no, she won't be big, because she'll never be brave enough to go back to basics.
She did most of those things for her last album to be fair, she needs a hell of a lot more than that.

I think she released "Catch You" at the beginning of the year just before the summer meaning she missed out on performing it exclusively at festivals and so on. During the summer she released her second single and no one was really interested in it

:cheer: I hope she is great. Loved most of her stuff. I think she should try and come back with a real electro stomper. I think she could be a real hit Calvin Harris would be a class hook-up they would really gel.

She's done some stuff with Calvin Harris already, 'Off And On' and 'Calling It Love' which will both likely appear on her new album. 'Off And On' leaked last year and it's not a hit single at all.
