December 21, 200816 yr Author Albums 10. Girls Aloud - Out Of Control - Peaked at #1 for 4 weeks 610gspg7QCw Everybody love love love loves Girls Aloud! Out Of Control is an opus of an album, by far my favourite of theirs to date, replacing 2004's What Will The Neighbours Say! The girls were on fine form with some brilliant electropop tracks like Love Is Pain, Untouchable and The Loving Kind, great 60's throwback single The Promise and Biology's oddball successor Miss You Bow Wow! 9. Maria Haukaas Storeng - Hold On Be Strong - Peaked at #1 for 1 weeks uV7gV2aEi7o As a rule, Norwegian Eurovision acts should come last. What they shouldn't do is be one of 2008's best pop stars, a happier version of Duffy if you like. Maria's new album Hold On Be Strong does 60's tribute in a more upbeat fashion than Duffy, Sharleen Spiteri and the rest of them and this album is a joy from start to finish with highlights such as Lazy, Leaving You For Good and the truly stunning Mine All Mine 8. Boyzone - Back Again...No Matter What: The Greatest Hits - Peaked at #1 for 2 weeks QpE_99zB4PE I won't pretend that I was a massive Boyzone fan back in the day, because I wasn't...However, Love You Anyway interested me into looking back through their back catalogue and I remembered a number of songs that reminded me of 'good times' and this album has been in my top ten since October when I bought it and had to have a place in my end of year top ten. Along with three frankly fantastic new songs, all of the hits are here, my favourites being Picture Of You, I Love The Way You Love Me, Baby Can I Hold You and All That I Need 7. Jordin Sparks - Jordin Sparks - Peaked at #1 for 1 week How80IHtAUU As American Idol winners go, they are usually a bit hit and miss with Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood on one side and Fantasia and Taylor Hicks on the other...I never particularly raved over Jordin during her 'Season' but I really enjoyed her debut album, packed with brilliant melodic pop/r&b songs including the brilliant singles Tattoo, No Air and One Step At A Time and some lovely songs such as Next To You. Not a particularly ground breaking album by any means, but certainly one of my most listened to during 2008. 6. Various Artists - Eurovision Song Contest Belgrade 2008 - Peaked at #1 for 3 weeks Vz58Hw9hldw 2008 was a stunning year for my favourite music event of the year. As usual western countries were doing badly with great songs and eastern countries did well with good songs, and some bad ones. This compilation of course features all of them including my favourites from Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Armenia, Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina and a rather brilliant dance song from France, Sebastien Tellier's Divine...I can only hope for a similar standard in 2009!
December 21, 200816 yr Jordin Sparks & Girls Aloud are my favourites from the Top 10... because I haven't heard the others! I won't like Boyzone's as it is a Greatest Hits collection, and I don't like many of theirs  Jordin Sparks album highlight's (Apart from the singles) IMO are 'Freeze' & 'Now you Tell Me' You have it spot on with Girls Aloud though! 'Miss You bow Wow' is amazing
December 21, 200816 yr Author Singles 20. Girls Aloud - The Loving Kind - Peaked at #2 j3urPEalFj0 19. Basia Bulat - In The Night - Peaked at #1 for 2 weeks (non-consecutive) CebHAvPHyyU 18. Delta Goodrem - Believe Again - Peaked at #1 for 12 weeks (10 of these in 2007) MuwHsblP3A8 17. Eric Prydz - Pjanoo - Peaked at #1 for 2 weeks 6RkDyT-Frfw 16. Katy Perry - Hot 'N' Cold - Peaked at #2 dO5uCKw4nl0 15. The Saturdays - Up - Peaked at #2 51rUrBaM92A 14. Sanna Nielsen - Nobody Without You - Peaked at #2 pUi4tKJeseU 13. Alphabeat - 10,000 Nights Of Thunder - Peaked at #1 for 2 weeks rJmK1Jlh9jw 12. Kylie Minogue - Wow - Peaked at #2 Q3g_8x-tIaM 11. H 'Two' O feat Platnum - What's It Gonna Be - Peaked at #1 for 1 week jd_4OrFH3EU Before the top ten we have...the second single from Girls Aloud's Out Of Control album, meaning that The Promise is their first ever end of year top ten finisher in my chart! The lovely Canadian singer Basia Bulat, introduced to me by Jonny (thanks for that) appears at No.19 with a song which yo-yoed between No.1 and No.2 for a good month and a half...Last year's end of year No.3 from Delta Goodrem is back for another year, proving how great it still is, whilst the best instrumental track in years, from Eric Prydz, is at No.17. Katy Perry's pop anthem Hot 'N' Cold was far better than I Kissed A Girl and rightfully finishes higher and Up by The Saturdays proves that they are a girlband to be taken seriously, a stunning pop song. Sanna Nielsen's Nobody Without You is 2008's best never intended, non-Eurovision entry, weighing in at a perfect 3:03 length with a classic key change and abrupt ending. Danes Alphabeat have a second but still not last entry with the poptastic 10,000 Nights (Of Thunder) followed just outside the top ten by Kylie's excellent Wow and garage kids H 'Two' O feat Platnum with the 2001 worthy What's It Gonna Be!

I know I am generally alone on Buzzjack with my Boyzone/Take That worship :heehee:

December 21, 200816 yr Out Of Control is brilliant, probably my 2nd favourite album of theirs after Chemistry, Jordin's album was actually rather good aswell. Im hoping for some more exiting and risk taking next album round though. A good batch of singles there though. Loving Kind has grown on me so much, Nobody Without You i still listen to a lot, Hot N Cold is Katy's best song by a mile, H Two O was this year's guilty pleasure of mine, Up is just amazing, Wow was a million times better than 2 Hearts and 10,000 Nights was in my opinion at least better than Fascination.
December 21, 200816 yr I'm betting your winnings of Leona coming the Christmas Number 2 Alphabeat are the group left for your Top 5 Albums :kink: :P Edited December 21, 200816 yr by Chrimbo Jon

December 22, 200816 yr Author Here they come, in batches of 1 album and 2 singles at a time, with full commentary and video goodness, these songs/albums, made my year  Albums 5. Natasha Bedingfield - Pocketful Of Sunshine BJhlxnDHfxw Full chart run: 1-1-2-3-4-6-9-10-9-8-8-7-8-7-5-9-11-13-14-14-12-13-14-12-11-15-18-18-20-20 N.B. was good in parts but was quite frankly a career ruining album in the UK for Natasha Bedingfield thanks largely to the terrible lead single and the diabolical artwork. Her US album, Pocketful Of Sunshine, improved on N.B. in every way, taking the best parts of that album and adding 7 brand new, all very excellent tracks made largely for the US market including Freckles, Angel, Love Like This, the top 5 US hit, Pocketful Of Sunshine, and Put Your Arms Around Me. The album really brightened up the first half of the year for me and reminded me that this lady is still capable of very high quality music!
