Posted December 20, 200816 yr ICp4g9p_rgo Seriously amazing. I can't even like describe how much better than Twilight this is (and to add to that, it's definitely not for Twilight fans). Amazing film. Title refers to the fact that a vampire can't enter a house unless it's invited. Ooh. GAH. SO GOOD.
December 21, 200816 yr I find it hard to believe that this is better than Twilight... Twilight is amaze from start to finish.
December 22, 200816 yr Oh, please, "Twilight" is a ridiculous pile of tosh for silly children too young or too dim for Anne Rice's or Poppy Brite's Vampires.... I'd like to see this film if it's gonna be more like something like Kathryn Bigelow's superb "Near Dark" or that rather excellent show that was on TV recently, "Moonlight"....
December 22, 200816 yr I will personally pay for you to watch Twilight again and again till you like it :P But like you said, im too young for that Vampire thing you were talking about... But for me, the closest thing i have to Twilight is, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and if anything i would have to say that the Twilight series are similar to Buffy's last couple of seasons (Buffy and Spike)... But seriously though, i havent read a book in YEARS and watching Twilight makes me want to read the book.
December 25, 200816 yr I will personally pay for you to watch Twilight again and again till you like it :P But like you said, im too young for that Vampire thing you were talking about... I will personally pay for you to read the Anne Rice 'Vampire Chronicles' then mate, esp, the first three books (Interview With The Vampire, The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned) also Poppy Brite's "Lost Souls" and "Drawing Blood"..... I believe that Neil Jordan's film adaption of Rice's "Interview With The Vampire" is on sometime over Christmas, I do suggest you and all the other "Twilight" fans watch this... It's not perfect (Tom Cruise doesn't really convince fully as Lestat, but Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst and Antonio Banderas are all excellent in their roles....), but it's certainly a better "vamp" movie than "Twilight" IMO.... On NO ACCOUNTS WHATSOEVER should anyone watch the dreadful adaption of "Queen of the Damned" though..... Absolute fukkin' SH!T..... :puke2:
December 27, 200816 yr On NO ACCOUNTS WHATSOEVER should anyone watch the dreadful adaption of "Queen of the Damned" though..... Absolute fukkin' SH!T..... :puke2:  I remember watching a documentary on how some psychotic kid watched that film and suddenly had the "Queen" from that film telling him to rip his best mates heart out and drink his blood :manson: I will, however, have a look at those books you mentioned. I need to start getting back into reading so it should be good. And Interview With The Vampire is on BBC1 on Saturday at 10:50pm Will defo have a look at it
December 30, 200816 yr Ok so i watched that Interview With The Vampire, it was okay most of the time i kept on thinking how it couldve easily been like a prelude to Twilight  I think Brad Pitt was excellent as Louis and Tom Cruise a bit menacing but also couldve been a little bit more in your face with a script like that... Also Kirsten Dunst portrayed a good character as a child actress and all. I know what i might be writing may seem a little :manson: but it was hard to concentrate on the film as i had family over at the time =/ I think its a very good Vamp film. It certainly applies all "laws" to it (eg no daylight etc). Its definitely one of the better Vampire films ive seen but then again i only have the original Buffy and Twilight films to compare it to
April 10, 200916 yr I'm thinking of seeing this tonight. The subtitles aren't a problem to me at all, but they may be for the friend I'm going to see it with. :( Still excited to see it! :D
April 10, 200916 yr This looks like all kind of good. Twilight gets one star from me, and that's only because of the hotness Robert exudes throughout the film.
April 10, 200916 yr I'd like to see this film if it's gonna be more like something like Kathryn Bigelow's superb "Near Dark" or that rather excellent show that was on TV recently, "Moonlight".... Near Dark is surely the best vampire movie of all time...a true classic - beautifully shot, acted and scripted...and it hasn't dated a bit - I hope they don't have the idea of remaking this one. Let The Right One In looks magnificent.... can't wait to see it. And as for 'Interview With The Vampire'...umm.... before seeing the movie, PLEASE read the books because only then will you understand that it's the WORST book-to-film adaptation EVER. Gone is any of the homoerotic content (*Cruise, especially, is abysmal.... Pitt just looks embarrassed by the whole sorry scenario), the lovely, dark, sensual nuances of the book are glossed over.... and to top it all, you have a completely inappropriate Gun and Roses track blaring over the ending.... a shockingly terrible movie. It's right up there with Eyes Wide Shut as the worst movie of the 90s..... and one of the most rancid of all time. A true turkey. Anne Rice gave the movie the go-ahead and her approval. I can only presume the old gal was on mind-bending drugs at the time. Or a very handsome payroll.
April 14, 200916 yr This film just rips "Twilight" a new one..... Totally.... I'd seriously recommend you go to see the original before Hollywood does the inevitable remake.....
April 14, 200916 yr ^ It's already been planned for a 2010 release. :( Fortunately I did manage to see it and oh my, what a film!
April 14, 200916 yr I saw this film like four months ago....It was very good indeed thou maybe not worth quite the hype people are giving it here. I think I would give it 4 stars out of 5. Very solid certainly and what I really liked was the fact that it was a bit different than the movies I usually watch (Hollywood, you know). And lol for Twilight...I haven't seen it thou but can you really even call it a vampire film...Isn't it like High School Musical part infinity with fangs?
