On the one hand they should try and protect UK jobs, but on the other these cars churn out the worst CO2 emissions amongst UK cars(Chelsea tractors!). If the Government are serious about “green” issues, should they let market forces determine the future of this Company.

It is also owned by Tata an Indian Company who just recently bought the franchise, so should taxpayers money go to them?

The US Government looks like helping their car industry, should we do likewise?

No its an Indian company let India bail them out

Surprisingly, I find that I agree with you... The likes of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler are American owned companies, and they have such a vital importance to the US economy, literally millions would suffer if they went under, Jaguar/Land Rover are certainly not as vital to the UK economy, so if the Govt aint gonna help Woolies which is gonna involve the loss of about 10,000+ jobs, why the hell should they bail out their arses...? And, as you say, they're not even British owned anymore, so, er, why exactly should we bail out a company that has bugger all to do with us....?

Bad enough that we have to pay for the fukkin' banks' and Network Rail's fukk ups..... <_<
