'Breakaway', which was co-written by Avril Lavigne, introduces a new sounding Kelly to the Kelly of late. "I've done country music, I've done pop, I've done gospel... but this song was different from everything I've done, people didn't even know it was me", said Kelly.

 

Lavigne's influence is certainly evident in this contemporary ballad with it's gritty edgy pop feel. The video for 'Breakaway' was filmed at one of the London dates in her recent UK sell out tour in front of 4,000 fans.

 

2005 was a phenomenal year for Kelly. Along with a sold out Arena tour she achieved 1.400,000 sales of her album in the UK and in the US had four number 1 hits. She is also the first artist in five years to celebrate 52 consecutive weeks in the Billboard Top 20.
