Posted December 21, 200816 yr Finally, a wiki for all things Libertines! set up by the people behind The Albion Arks. “It looks like you're single-handily trying to build the pyramids” – Tom_Kittens from Albion Arks forums, when I showed them a preview of The Albion Wiki. The Albion Wiki idea started in February 2008 (almost a year ago) when I realised there was so much knowledge, facts and rumours about The Libertines, but not all in one place. Since then, libertines.org, thelibertines.org.uk and libertines.twinkling-star have all closed down. It’ll be nice to have an archive where all information about The Libertines (and their related bands) can go. And so today (7 years to the day when The Libertines were first signed to ROUGH TRADE) The Libertines wiki opens with around 400 articles. Users can add their own pages to help us grow, edit others’ pages to make them more accurate, delete unnecessary paragraphs or simply browse for information that they didn’t know before. It’s really simple to use (just like Wikipedia) and you can go on and start browsing (we’ve added some categories below to help you get started), take a glance at how to use our site, or use our test page to try out how to edit stuff. A HUGE thank you to Lorrae and “thelivertine” from Albion Arks forums for helping out with some of the original articles, Martha letting me use her server space and helping out with the setting up of the website (you’re a star), all the BETA users (DrunkenProphet, Enharmonies, Feverishswan, Halfcutboy, JoPixie, O-Libertine and Steve1002) who've been looking through and correcting all the facts on the site for the past month and Anthony Thornton and Roger Sargent for their "Bound Together" book. Although they didn't help directly, their book was like The Bible to me throughout this project, and I don't think a day has passed in the last year when I haven’t read a part of it! Without the above list of people, this site would not be here today, so thank you so much! Jamie PS. It IS christmas, so if you feel like donating to the site, after I've spent all year making it, I'd really appreciate it. you can access the wiki at www.albionarks.com the site went live today.
