This Australian dance act produced this rocky techno dance track which became a Top 10 hit in the UK after a lot of support from Radio 1.

The Californian husband & wife duo came to my attention (again) thanks to Radio 2's Radcliffe & Maconie evening show on this delightful indie pop track taken from their 5th US album Re-Arrange Us.

The second & final apearance by this Australian dance act, but the first of a record 4 appearances for New Zealander Pip Brown (aka Ladyhawke) on this countdown on this excellent dance track with a celebratory chorus to die for.

68 Kylie Minogue - The One (Freemasons Single Remix) (8wks 35-11-5-3-3-6-13-33)

A step by step guide to screwing up a great song.

1. Leave the stand out track (think 21st Century Abba) on a patchy album (X) to last to release as a single.

2. Get the Freemasons to do a fantastic remix, but then not have it available on physical single to buy.

3. Release the video to the track two weeks late.

Little wonder it replaced Some Kind Of Bliss (another fav of mine) as her worst performing single to date.

Taken from the US Seattle indie-rockers 7th album Narrow Stairs this melodic rock track wormed its way into my brain far more than a lot of higher charting songs have from my personal charts in 2008.

What can be said about Take That? Britain's best ever boy band return with a rock solid slice of Snow Patrol meets Keane anthemic indie pop that whilst failing to reach the heights of Patience or Rule The World is still a damn fine track.

The former Zero 7 singer Australian Sia Furler released this quirky yet very catchy pop track at the beginning of 2008 where despite Radio 2 airplay and a very strange video it failed to chart in the UK.

excellent so far Rich, forgot you'd charted Basia's In The Night  will post my faves up when you do a recap :D

Forget Leona (she was a plant/ringer after all), the first and best solo artist to come out of the whole cancerous 21st Century UK Reality Pop Talent shows continues to stamp his own individuality on his material with this very melodic track that only reached #10 earlier this year.

I agree to the above posts, the single had huge potential with physical backing, I love this track too much its one of her stand tunes on her X album after No More Rain.

Will post my faves later after a recap.

63 MGMT - The Youth (10wks 36-27-23-19-14-13-12-18-34*)

Sadly, the 4th promo single by MGMT went under the radio stations radar due to the run up to Christmas (Although the politically incorrect video probably does not help matters for video airplay in the UK). However, I love this Bowie-esque slice of slightly psychedelic pop.
