Posted December 23, 200816 yr The legend returned tonight ... about time we had something genuinely funny and apt! He's been away from our screens for too long but it is true ... absence makes the heart grow fonder! Me and my husband were doubled up at him! Norma

December 25, 200816 yr Author cant stand him... cant see the appeal of a drunken scottsman... unfunny, irritating. If you can stick with him ... the character comes out with some very profound things. The dialogue around the dinner table at their son's house was brilliant. I watched Gavin & Stacy for the first time last night ... and yes - it was mildly amusing ... but I laughed more at Rab C Nesbitt. Norma

Fantastic stuff, just as good as it used to be. Gregor Fisher's Rab C Nesbitt has been missed for far too long, and was a damn sight more funnier than the disappointing Gavin & Stacey Xmas Special. (And I'm a big Gavin & Stacey fan but that Xmas Special showed real signs like Ab Fab; Little Britain & Catherine Tate show before it of running out of ideas after two series).

January 3, 200916 yr If anyone missed this ... its repeated tonight BBC2 10.30. It is well worth tuning in. Funniest thing so far over the festive season. Norma I watched it again last night and definitely agree with TV critic Charlie Brooker that is was the funniest & best thing on TV over the festive period. Both laugh out loud funny one minute and deeply thought provoking and devastatingly moving the next = exactly how comedy drama at its best should be. dwH9Gq4g7cQ Rab C Nesbitt: "Clean" - Christmas Special 2008 (Part 5 of 5)
January 3, 200916 yr Author The thing that makes it so brilliant is that Gregor Fisher is actually one of the best actors around .... straight or comic. The supporting cast is excellent too. Norma
February 25, 200916 yr New 'Rab C. Nesbitt' series confirmed Wednesday, February 25 2009, 09:54 GMT Digitalspy.com By Dan French Rab C. Nesbitt is to return for a new series, it has been confirmed. The BBC announced that six new episodes are to be made following the success of the Christmas special last year. The festive one-off - which drew an audience of 3.5m in the UK - saw Nesbitt quit alcohol and find religion. An insider said Gregor Fisher, who plays Rab, would definitely return, and hinted that writer Ian Pattinson has "lots to write about". "In the Christmas special, he showed us where Rab was and how he could have lost Mary for ever. But now they are back together, anything could happen," he added. "And with the world as it is today, Ian should have lots for Rab to take offence at." The show ran for eight series before bowing out in 1999. :party2: :w00t:
February 25, 200916 yr Author Great! I've been watching some re-runs on a Friday night. Shows you the state of British TV (situation) comedy when something ten years old is funnier (and yet still more topical) than anything else on at the moment.
