July 9, 200916 yr I kinda love it, though perhaps im biast, she has become my recent obsession tbh Though it is kinda clear that a re-release of Leave & Crying Blood is the only way forward singles wise
July 13, 200916 yr I really like this album. Maybe because it wasn't as hyped as the other Brit females of the year I wasn't so disappointed when actually listening to it...
July 13, 200916 yr Oh my goodness it's just wonderful, so happy with it! 'Game Over' or 'Bottles' for next single. Loving 'Everybody' and 'Crazy Amazing' too!
July 14, 200916 yr I think love would be pushing it a bit, but yeah i really really like it now after several listens. A few dud tracks perhaps and there are limits on single choices i guess, on the whole a very pleasing album. Highlights other than the 3 singles would be Bottles, Quick Fix and LOVE, Its also top 20 in the midweeks!
January 2, 20214 yr 10 year anniversary of this album being marked by a KickStarter fund: View this post on Instagram It’s on. Let’s end and start the year great and bold! Boom! We just launched this. A celebration of 10 years of Traveling like the light. I couldn’t do it last year because Pledge music went bust and it al went to pot and I was heavily pregnant high risk so I could follow through with the gigs even though we sold out two venues at 2k capacity! But we now have this: Our Kickstarter campaign 2021. I am incredibly nervous because I’m wandering if anyone will even care lol - but it’s here and we have some awesome rewards going for fans. ❤️ We can’t do this without you. I genuinely feel like my fans are friends. I hate the word fans . We are just a big family that loves music. I hope there are things that give back to you. I am so am so thankful and so grateful! 10 years of this album just giving and giving. Countless messages from such awesome people listening to the album through engagement, marriage, babies, heart break, college, uni, and still up to this day we get messages from people ! Those bloody sharks ey. Thank God for them. I truly wanted to celebrate the 10 years properly. Let’s do this together. xxx link in bio #kickstarterWhere were you when you first heard my debut, Traveling like the light? Traveling like the light was my first album and it was the cornerstone of my career. I travelled he world and met so many amazing people and it taught me about the industry. I am so grateful for all the support and love from you guys that allowed me to break into a very tough industry. This album is such a silent giver and success story because it touched so many lives. Still to this day we get messages from people telling us about their experiences with it. It never charted high but it slowly sold over time and landed a number 1 in France and led to us selling over half a million in America. In 2010 it was one of the most synched albums and continues to tick away even now serving me and my family. It was an album that came out of quite a long journey where I had already had a deal, been dropped and lost everything I had. I had lived another music life pre this album. Everyone told me at 23 I would never get a deal ever again and it was over. However, this album came out of the determination to continue my dream. It was completely written on a one string guitar and is a true sound photograph of where I was at that time. A hipster kid trying to make it and be cool. The album has now reached its 10 year status and we have launched a kickstarter to celebrate its longevity. We were not able to do this last year as this was the official decade and this because of complications. Pregnancy and PLEDGE music basically stealing artists raised funds from a campaign we had started back then. There are some amazing rewards yiI can get from the Kickstarter including Vinyl, the lost album Lollipops and Politics and even a dinner with me, I’m cooking! I’ve always been terrible at self promotion and feel quite shy to ask things like this especially when it’s kinda promoting something that I am doing, rather than a bigger cause, but as an independent artist during Covid/Brexit we need all the support to make our creative projects come to life. The funds from this will help me launch a new exciting musical project I have been working on and all the money made from that project will be going to charity. Please follow the link in the bio and be apart of this! Her Instagram has more information: https://www.instagram.com/vvbrownofficial/?hl=en I think I am going to contribute! The subsequent albums that followed this were exceptional too (Samson & Delilah being one of my ultimate faves of the 10s decade). I'd love a new album from her!
January 2, 20214 yr I saw her appear on BBC Breakfast on TV recently, she is now a children's author. Edited January 2, 20214 yr by Road Salt Mixer
January 2, 20214 yr Great she is doing the Kickstarter campaign, I hope it will do well for her. She has always deserved so much more, and I really though after Shark taking off in the US, she would do very well. Such a shame it has never truly happened for her (especially in the UK, Shark should have been a #1 smash).
January 2, 20214 yr I saw her appear on BBC Breakfast on TV recently, she is now a children's author. Yes she is! I am trying to get hold of the books for my own school/classroom! Such a talent - this album and the two that followed are incredibly diverse in sounds and tones and yet each is uniquely brilliant in its own way.
