January 2, 200917 yr i think there might be some sales data missing on some of the updates. either that or things are ridiculously close, especially in the Albums Mid-Week.
January 2, 200917 yr i think there might be some sales data missing on some of the updates. either that or things are ridiculously close, especially in the Albums Mid-Week. Wouldn't be the first time - album sales especially, tend to utterly collapse after Xmas...
January 2, 200917 yr When was the last time an artist had two albums in the top5 ? Let's hope GA can hold positions by Sunday
January 2, 200917 yr Can't tell you offhand to be honest, but I think it's unlikely sadly, one or the other will fall. By the way, don't expect an official update today - MW are still off work as far as I know - but we may have an unofficial one later.
January 2, 200917 yr By my reckoning the last time an Act had 2 Albums in the Top 5, was in the Chart of W/E 2nd October 1993. '1962 - 1966' by The Beatles had been re-issued on CD, & it re-entered at No.3. The Beatles '1967 - 1970' re-entered at No.4 in the same Chart.
January 2, 200917 yr Ne-Yo - Mad deserves to be a top 10 hit , Much better than Closer and Miss Independent ^_^
January 2, 200917 yr RabbitFurCoat, you are right! The Corrs had 2 Albums in the Top 10 for 17 Weeks, (in a row), between January & May 1999. For 6 of those Weeks they had 2 Albums in the Top 5. In the Chart of W/E 10th April 1999 they were No.1 with 'Talk On Corners', & No.2 with 'Forgiven, Not Forgotten' - the first Male/Female Act to manage that since ABBA in January 1977 - No.1 with 'Arrival', No.2 with 'Greatest Hits'. The Corrs were at 2 & 3 in the Chart of 17th April 1999, & they last managed 2 Top 5 Albums at once, the next Week - W/E 24th April 1999. They were at No.3 with 'Forgiven, Not Forgotten', & No.4 with 'Talk On Corners'. So, that looks like the last time that the same Act had 2 Albums in the Top 5 - W/E 24th April 1999. January 4, 200917 yr I hope Britney is still inside top 15 I hope so too. But aparently she's #18. I saw this from another forum.
January 4, 200917 yr It's wrong! See as Sunday would have been one of the highest downloading days of the year, if GaGa had sold that, she wouldnt have been top 20(I doubt she sold just 1.6k on Sunday) No way did Leona only say like 5k downloads on Sunday (I use her as a benchmark)....hence why that data is either just for the Sunday, or completely bogus! Sales tail off massively during this week of the year - for example, Leona's Bleeding Love sold 37,170 @ #2 in the week to 30 December last year, and then 17,883 the following week where she was #3. Her sales more than halved (52% down), so the context of all the sales look right. GaGa didn't hit #1 on iTunes until about Thursday this week IIRC so her low start in the Tuesday mids also looks right.
