Posted December 30, 200816 yr I watched Into The Wild about a week ago (maybe longer) and I cant stop thinking about it  It's one of the best films I have ever seen. Just looking at reviews on IMDB and this sums it up pretty welll.... "Beautiful, deep, true, adventurous, sad, occasionally funny, real, at times very touching." I think the only word missing from that is inspirational. I rarely watch a film and find myself thinking about it weeks later (only ones I've probably done that with that come to mind now are Changeling, Little Children, Girl Interupted & Juno.....there are probably more but I can't think right now and none of the ones I've listed even come close to how I feel about Into The Wild) Its strange because most of the films that I tend to class as the 'best films I've ever seen' are not of my fave genre (which is horror) is anybody else like that? I'm also reading the book by Jon Krakauer atm too which is a great read (and took me AGES to find in Waterstones  ) From play.com.... Freshley graduated from college with a promising future ahead, 22-year-old Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch) instead walked out on his privileged life and into the wild in search of adventure. What happened to him on the way transformed this young wanderer into an emerging symbol for countless people. Was Christopher a heroic adventurer or a naive idealist, a rebelious 1990's Thoreau or another lost American son, a fearless risk-taker or a tragic figure who wrestled with the precious balance between man and nature? McCandless' quest took him from the wheat fields of South Dakota to a renegade trip down the Colorado River to the non-conformists' refuge of Slab City, California, and beyond. Along the way, he encountered a series of colorful characters at the very edges of American society who shaped his understanding of life and whose lives he, in turn, changed. In the end, he tested himself by heading alone into the wilds of the great North, where everything he had seen and learned and felt came to a head in ways he never could have expected. Adapted by Jon Krakauer's acclaimed bestseller Into The Wild. 2LAuzT_x8Ek Edited December 30, 200816 yr by *Trouble*
