April 6, 200916 yr the garden is doing well enough in norway and germany which is great thank you for the update Jur
April 6, 200916 yr I'd like to see a Danish chart ... its doing far better there than in anywhere else in Europe. Norma TBH I don't quite get that Norway peak for The Garden in Norway ... I don't think it entered the Norwegian chart at all. I'm certain it doesn't appear anywhere in the International Chart whenever the Norway chart was posted. I think that may be a mistake. Either way ... sorry to be a sourpuss but they are pretty disappointing peaks anyway. I wish they'd have used the time to promote UAN in the UK than try to push something that is unlikely to happen again for them in Europe. I think the mystery is solved ... I'm certain Jur has typed Norway and not Denmark ... as 19 is the number that it is at in the Danish chart right now. Edited April 6, 200916 yr by Norma_Snockers
April 6, 200916 yr Its looking likely he meant Denmark instead of Norway,ya i suppose all that promo had it been energised into uk up all night promotion it may have got top 10 ,then u just dont know ,up all night did very well on airplay it was a huge airplay hit maybe it was not the type of song people want from take that, dont get me wrong i love it but people love take that ballads maybe they dint go for the uptempo track from them this along with those who bought the album instead would have hampered sales. Take That do very well on singles but take that phase 2 to me is take that are now an albums band and not a singles band,,,doesnt matter what the third single is really or how they promote it all its going to do at best is top 20 as it will be the album that will benefir, im sure the lads wont mind and their record company wont be be to dismayed either. Next step is the circus deluxe edition that should have a new song that will be a single if this is done properly there is no reason the circus wont match beautiful in sales terms, id love the circus to get that as i now definitly prefer the circus to beautiful world.
April 7, 200916 yr Next step is the circus deluxe edition that should have a new song that will be a single if this is done properly there is no reason the circus wont match beautiful in sales terms, id love the circus to get that as i now definitly prefer the circus to beautiful world. Well for me to buy the de luxe edition it has to have a lot more extras than just the 'b' sides (which this time have been pretty dismal - especially '84). I won't buy it at all unless it has a video on it like the last one ... and one new song at least. I'm not being suckered into flashing the cash for anything less. Norma
April 7, 200916 yr Author Oooppssss, my mistake! It was indeed Denmark instead of Norway... Glad you guys are awake ;) *corrects* And I agree the single hasn't been a huge succes in Europe, just like the album....
April 7, 200916 yr Oooppssss, my mistake! It was indeed Denmark instead of Norway... Glad you guys are awake ;) *corrects* And I agree the single hasn't been a huge succes in Europe, just like the album.... I'd say it flopped all round in Europe ... to be honest ... nothing other than Patience has been a hit (even RTW flopped). This small promo trip was surely used to test the water. They did waste valuable time though away from the UK which is really where their success lies. No shame in just being popular in the UK and Ireland. They really did sacrifice a top 10 hit for UAN (and further album sales) for the sake of a few hundred or so copies of The Garden being sold in Europe. Hope they've learned their lesson! Norma
April 8, 200916 yr if a deluxe is released im sure it will contain all the video;s from the circus era singles plus a new song and maybe some b sides, well if we got that it would sell huge i think
April 8, 200916 yr if a deluxe is released im sure it will contain all the video;s from the circus era singles plus a new song and maybe some b sides, well if we got that it would sell huge i think I don't mean the videos of the singles - I mean a documentary video like they did with BW De Luxe. I'm not too fond of any of the music videos this time round - especially The Garden. If I was pushed ... I'd say UAN was the best vid but I don't think that was too strong. I'm sure they'll do it anyway ... they know they won't sell many more copies unless they do do another documentary. It would be quite easy really ... as they've got loads of film from those pod-casts which were actually more interesting than the album itself. I really need to see the concerts now to get me back in Take That mode! Norma
April 8, 200916 yr yes i agree i def think you need to see them concert to Norma!!!lol Beautiful world got alot more promo than the circus in general so im not sure if we will get any documentaries, but im sure they would do a documentary video for a deluxe edition, they would be crazy not to do a deluxe edition of the album i know they did one as did girls aloud but they arent normal deluxe editions as they are to pricey,i want a deluxe that is normal price and i would buy it as i like having spare copies of album i love so i would buy a new deluxe for that reason alone. I want the circus to do 2 million uk sales and it can easily to do if they do just a little but more promotion for a third single as that along with concerts plus deluxe will def see a 2,2 million selling album i believe.
April 8, 200916 yr I was not very keen on the podcasts, so for me another documentary with more information about what they think about their music please: i know more about it seeing the last interview from Mark as from that postcasts  . As the official videos are all away from youtube, i will be happy to have them on a delue CD (ok, i am not so keen on The Garden and i cannot stop to laugh at GD, but i love UAN  ). I think they would have to put some new songs, as this time they have only 2 B-sides, which is to little to sell a deluxe version. I am sure they have something left, so i want some (greedy here) . If they are clever and they want a new top 10 hit they should do a "Beatles" and release as singles songs which are not on the album. Naturally they must be strong songs. It has payed with RTW, i am sure of it was on the BW, it woudn't have sell so much as a third/fourth single. Perhaps they will do a live CD? I won't say no to that  .
April 8, 200916 yr As for flopping in Europe: well, at least they tryed. Sometimes it payes of, sometimes not. Their music is still here in the radio and as background music in TV a lot, and from that they win also money. Take a look at Razorlight, their flop song "Wire to wire" in UK is on the german Itunes in top 10. You cannot always say if it will work or not. But TT handle this time professional, they came to promote the album and single, so for me i am quite content. If they would make a tour next year scaled down, for our market, i will be also very pleased! It is up to them if they make music to pleased the masses and to sell millions or if they make music because they are musician and they love to do it. Sometimes success is not everything. Not when you pay by selling your soul to the business god. I think they have won a lot of money, so they can allow themselves to do music because of the music. If they give me an album strong in quality, evolving and challanging like the Circus, i will be very happy. Regardless if Uk likes it or Germany likes it. regardless how many albums they sold. In fact are a lot of artists who sell loads and i don't care any second for them, artists with a song a like, but not enough to buy a whole album. I like TT music not because their success, so it is egal what they do in charts and how loved are from other - as long as i like the music they make. I learned my lesson with UAN of being disspointed because of charts. When i look what a lot of crap music is in top 40 and what fine songs are outside, it is quite ok how UAN did. I wanted more as it is a very good song, but if it didn't worked, well, it didn't. I still love my UAN from my whole heart and i am sure i will still love it in 10 years. We should not forget that there are a lot of artists on the market who don't have not at least 10 % from success of TT. That says not a thing about the quality of the music, but about the right image and marketing success. If i like a song, i liked it and basta! Sometimes my love for a song increase in time, but never goes back. So my oppinion about the quality of The Circus remain , regardless if it will sell more or less than BW.
April 9, 200916 yr IM the same if i like a song i like it and a good or bad chart performance wont change my mind on that, take Kylie Minogue;s impossible primcess album a huge flop in slaes terms in the uk sold about a career total of 60,000, among hardcore kylie fans this is one of the fans faveourite albums and remains as such a clut following, perosnnlay i love the album and 2 of the 3 singles released of the album i rate among her best singles even though they flopped so sales dont represent taste, dont get me wrong when im a fan i will never object to seeing a song i love sell millions and that does happen sometimes but in general it does not. Up all night is a song i know i will love in 10 years time and i think from their comeback up all night and rule the world will forever remain very high in my faveourite take that singles of all time,up all night has such a feel good factor it never fails to put a smile on my face and songs like that are scarce enough these days. THe circus on the whole is a very strong album in my opiniion and if they keep that standard up i will have no problems buying any future albums regardinh whether they sell a million copies of 1,000 copies.
April 10, 200916 yr Author Promotion in Denmark helped: #8 The garden (up 11) #15 The circus (re-entry, new peak)
April 10, 200916 yr Promotion in Denmark helped: #8 The garden (up 11) #15 The circus (re-entry, new peak) Great great great :cheer: !!!! (Am i too enthusiastic here?)
April 10, 200916 yr Great great great :cheer: !!!! (Am i too enthusiastic here?) That is so much better news. I did think it'd do far better in Denmark from the early signs. And I think they only did one major show in Denmark didn't they? That has made me feel a bit happier ... still really not enough for them to base any future European plans though I suppose. I think if they do any shows in future they will probably be one a really small scale and perhaps just restrict it to Denmark and Germany. Italy and Switzerland have more or less said they'll not miss them! Norma
April 10, 200916 yr This is brilliant news and lovely to see further recognition happening outside of the UK and Ireland now
