January 7, 200916 yr Welcome to the first dancefloor chart of 2009 were we see that Guru Josh`s reign at the top of the countdown hasn`t yet come to an end. He´s been there for 11 weeks now. Eric Prydz remains in the top 10 for the longest time with a total of 22 weeks and has collected the highest points so far - 212 points. The question is whether Guru Josh and his 183 points can be a threat and at the moment Eric should definitely be worried. This weeks new entry is DJ Tiesto with "Edward Carnby" breaking in at number 6. Tiesto didn´t appear in any of last years charts and was last seen in 2007 with "Break My Fall" which peaked at number 3. It´s worth mentioning that he first appeared in the chart with "Traffic" in 2003. He has had 3 number one`s on this chart; "Love Comes Again" ft BT (2 weeks in 2004), "Dance 4 Life" ft Maxi Jazz (1 week in 2006) and "In The Dark" ft Christian Burns (2 weeks in 2007). Can he make a fourth one?...
January 7, 200916 yr Each Friday and Saturday, Infinity 2008 start my set of mixing :w00t: So, as a DJ I'm really happy that this song is a number one xox.
January 7, 200916 yr Author When i watched this edition of DFC i was really proud to see the new entry.I saw the chart online a few hours earlier, but i could't believe what i read so i wanted to see it to beleive it.Tiesto's "Edward Carnby" is maybe the best dance track of the past few months. But in fact this song contents a motive from a traditional bulgarian folklore song from a choir called "The Mystery Of The Bulgarian Voices".It's hard to translate the lyrics, but i'll try.I'm very proud to hear bulgarian language on such classy record.Really hope to see it at No.1!!!And here are the lyrics used in "Edward Carnby": Why are you shining moony and you shine over my sorrow? Down here shadows blacken and they are breaking off my wings.......

January 11, 200916 yr That Tiesto song is fantastic, love the Bulgarian vocals. Trance dj's seem to be producing quality songs, shame they never top the DFC yet the boring David Guetta is always at the top... Anyway, hopefully the fabulous new 4 Strings and ATB singles will get videos and also chart.
January 12, 200916 yr 2009-01-11 Straight in at number 5 goes "Radio Crash" by 35-year old trance producer Ferry Corsten. He was also known as System F and had a top 10 dfc hit with "Out Of The Blue" in 1999. He first appeared as Ferry Corsten in 2002 with "Punk" but this was a rather minor hit. His best song in the dfc top 10 is "It`s Time" in 2004. His longest stay in the chart was with "Fire" in 2006 which survived 10 weeks but peaked at number 5. This was also the last time he was seen in this countdown...up until his strong entry this week.
January 18, 200916 yr Author MTV Dancefloor Chart №3/18.01.2009 1. ( 1 ) Guru Josh Project - Infinity 2008 2. ( 2 ) David Guetta - Everytime We Touch 3. ( 4 ) Kid Cudi - Day N Night 4. ( 3 ) Tiesto - Edward Carnby 5. ( 5 ) Ferry Corsten - Radio Crash 6. ( * ) Rudenko - Everybody 7. ( 6 ) The Young Punx - Mash It Up 8. ( 7 ) Armand Van Helden - Shake That Ass 9. ( * ) The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die 10. ( 9 ) Eric Prydz - Pjanoo
January 18, 200916 yr 2009-01-18 After 15 weeks of only one new entry per chart, Rudenko and The Prodigy squeeze themselves in the top 10 and give the weekly intake of newcomers an increase...it was perhaps about time. The same could be said about The Prodigy who were last seen in this countdown in late 2005 with "Voodoo People" remixed by Pendulum. The Prodigy are to be recognized for there 3 amazing club hits during the 90`s; "No Good (Start The Dance)" 1994, "Firestarter" and "Breathe" in 1996. Their biggest hit in the top 10 or since 2004 is "Girls". Now they make a comeback with "Invaders Must Die" at number 9. At number 6 we welcome Leonid Rudenko for the first time and his tune "Everybody" is destined for top 3 very soon in my opinion.
January 19, 200916 yr Author This week Guru Josh Project's "Infinity 2008" spend the unbelievable 13th week at No.1!It happenned for the first time in MTV chart:in the European Top 20 we have 12 weeks as highest number.More impressive is that it's chart run is so simple:2-2-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-1!17 weeks in total and all of them top 2.Next weeks if the song is higher than No.5 it will score record breaking amount of points, now lead by Eric Prydz and his "Pjanoo".Speaking of whom, let's mark his record now:24 weeks in the chart!!!I'm glad that all the new stuff in 2009 so far is so great, especially Tiesto and Ferry Corsten.
January 22, 200916 yr This week Guru Josh Project's "Infinity 2008" spend the unbelievable 13th week at No.1!It happenned for the first time in MTV chart:in the European Top 20 we have 12 weeks as highest number. Actually the longest stay at the top is at least 14 weeks by Junior Jack`s "E Samba" in 2003 on the top 20 dfc.
January 23, 200916 yr Author Actually the longest stay at the top is at least 14 weeks by Junior Jack`s "E Samba" in 2003 on the top 20 dfc. Thank for this info.I count statistics only for the Top 10 DFC since week 10/2005.By the way the new chart was announced, but i don't know if i should post before Sunday?
January 23, 200916 yr ah, I remember E Samba. That crappy song hogged the top spot for an eternity, which is pretty stupid when the song flopped pretty much everywhere...

( 5 ) Ferry Corsten - Radio Crash 5. ( 4 ) Tiesto - Edward Carnby 6. ( 9 ) The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die 7. ( 6 ) Rudenko - Everybody 8. ( * ) The Ian Carey Project - Get Shaky 9. ( 10 ) Eric Prydz - Pjanoo 10. ( 7 ) The Young Punx - Mash It Up
January 27, 200916 yr 2008-01-25 This week we have one new entry from a house DJ producer; Ian Carey or his current side project - The Ian Carey Project with "Get Shaky" shifting in at number 8. Another project however finds itself not really strong for the number 1 spot this week and as a result slides to number 2 after 13 weeks at the top which is a record for the top 10. Kid Cudi`s success in the UK now spreads over the continent as "Day ´N` Nite" becomes our new number 1. Eric`s "Pjanoo" moves one place upwards to number 9 and spends a 25th week on the dfc which is the longest stay in the top 10 although "Infinity 2008" could be a threat with its 18 weeks as a first runner up. We also note that Josh has now outnumbered Eric with the points - 219 points is the current record set by Josh. So can Josh take on three valuable records on the dfc - the longest stay, the longest chart topper and the highest points altogether? Until the next time....
