Another interesting chart this week as we receive two re-entries and three new entries. Cascade and R.I.O. both debuted on the dfc recently and are now back. Amongst the new entries we have a 22-year old Romanian singer Inna who missed the chart with "Hot" last year and charts at number 7 with the second single "Love". Agent X enters at number 9 with "Falling" and gets help from Mutya Buena & Ultra. Mutya also helped Groove Armada in 2007 with "Song 4 Mutya" which peaked at number 4. At number 10 we find The Prodigy with a suitable request for sick people; "Take Me To The Hospital". They were last seen in the countdown with their number-6 peaking song "Invaders Must Die".

David Guetta`s new video for "When Love Takes Over" is in progress and will hopefully be in the countdown soon - a really good song imo

Hopefully? You can expect it to be #1 for 3 months and in the top10 for a year...

Well predicted!! David Guetta has topped the chart for 12 weeks now with "When Love Takes Over" and this is David´s biggest hit. His new hit enters at number 3 together with Akon and both singles are UK-number one´s for one week each.

Deadmau5 topped the dfc earlier this year with "I Remember" and now they follow it up with "Ghosts ´N` Stuff" creeping in at number 10.

This is the first time on the dfc where an artist has two songs neck-to-neck in the top part of the chart. David Guetta moves up a spot with "Sexy Chick" to number 2 and parks behind his biggest single yet "When Love Takes Over" which has now spent an amazing 13 weeks on top of the countdown. Pitbull moves down one place to number 3 after a total of 7 weeks at number 2 which is the record for that peak (in terms of number of weeks spent at a peak).

The last time the Dutch DJ and producer Armin Van Buuren charted in the top 10 he did so with his biggest hit "In And Out Of Love" at the end of last year and then he had assistance from the lead singer of the Dutch rock band Within Temptation, Sharon Den Adel in order to peak at 2. In the latest single he has replaced Sharon with another Dutch singer to help him and so far enters at number 9. Considering the responce to the song over the continent this far its doubtful whether he´ll be able to repeat last years success.

David Guetta`s neck-to-neck status on the dfc continues as his singles swap places and thus he consequently replaces himself at the top of the chart which also happens for the first time ever on the dfc and will remain quite memorable. After 13 weeks on top, "When Love Takes Over" ends up reigning the top 10 for the second longest time after "Infinity 2008" by Guru Josh Project.

Madonna is no stranger to the dfc and appears every now and then with evident success just like she does this week when she takes "Celebration" straight in at number 4. Benny Benassi recognized for the hit "Satisfaction" in 2003 has mixed the song.

Um, number 4?

Um, number 4?

Maybe Jamse talks about the next chart which will be played tonight on MTV Europe and where Madonna doesn't appear.

Madonna leaves the chart this week after only one week and as high as number 4. This is the first time such a chart run is performed in the top 10 and has become a bit of a trend if we remind ourselves that Shaggy´s "Fly High" also spent only one week in the chart and at number 5. This is one of Madonna´s worst chart runs.

Cascada moves up one place to number 4 with "Evacuate The Dancefloor" and this is her fifth week at this peak and also the longest time there. The records for the longest stay at a peak in the top 10 has been refreshed over the last year. Guru Josh Project´s "Infinity 2008" topped the chart for 18 weeks and this is obviously a record for the peak of number 1. Pitbull who remains at number 3 has peaked at number 2 for a record-breaking 7 weeks with "I Know You Want Me". Axwell`s "What A Wonderful World" peaked at number 3 for 8 weeks last year.

This weeks new entry is DJ Fresh with "Hypercaine" and goes in at number 10.

2009-10-04

The year DVD`s were discovered, the year South Africa won the Rugby World Cup or the year the Oklahoma City bombing took place...that was what 1995 could be remembered for but Pitbull has his mind set on the biggest club tracks of that year as evidenced when he sampled The Bucketheads with "The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)" in "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" which leaves the countdown today and is replaced by the second single with also samples a 1995 dance hit with Nightcrawlers; "Push The Feeling On". "Hotel Room Service" storms in at an amzing number 4 and Pitbull also keeps the simple counting lectures in check just like in the first hit.

When Nordic songs become extremely popular in their region then it´s time for a UK release and also in the rest of the European continent and such is the case for the response to "Kun For Mig"; a song by the Danish singer Medina who topped the Danish single chart for six weeks earlier this year. Since the song rocked the dance clubs in Denmark it was decided to write the song in English for an international release and then the song gets a new name "You and I" and now it finds its way to the dfc at number 10. Medina has another hit "Velkommen Til Medina" which has almost repeated the success of the first single.
