October 11, 200915 yr 2009-10-11 After having a discontinuous chart run of 15 weeks, Cascada leaves the chart abruptly after reaching the peak position of number 3. This is becoming common this year as David Guetta´s "When Love Takes Over" left the chart last week at number 2 after the duration of 16 weeks all of which were spent in the top 2. This is what he has in common with Lady GaGa´s "Poker Face" which dropped out from the highest possible position; number 1! Cascada´s discontinuous chart run had a break of 1 week; that is she left the chart for 1 week and returned but these breaks can be as long as 8 months and such was the case for the French producer and DJ Laurent Wolf and his "No Stress". This track left the chart at number 6 in March and now he´s back with "Walk The Line" which climbs in at 9. Paul Van Dyk´s last appearance on the dfc was a few months ago where he was breathing life into one of his own old songs for the third time in "For An Angel 2009". The song took itself to number 3 at best. However, at number 6 he´s brought fresh material where Johnny McDaid assists him in "Home". It was also a few months ago since the Romanian dance singer Inna debuted on the dfc with "Love" which peaked at number 7 and now she´s already outdone herself together with Bob Taylor as she rockets in at number 4 with "Deja Vu".

October 19, 200915 yr 2008-10-18 The Italian electro producer Phonat enters the dfc at number 10 with the single "Set Me Free". He has produced music for The Young Punx whom we know for their single "Mash It Up" last winter when it peaked at number 3. At just number 3 is where we find this weeks highest new entry and its the Danish singer, songwriter and producer Ida Corr with "Ride My Tempo". We therefore note 2 Danish artists on the chart. Ida´s biggest hit was the collaboration with the Dutch house DJ Fedde Le Grand in "Let Me Think About It". In the Autumn of 2007 it reached the number 1 spot for 2 weeks but half that time was the time that elapsed for Scottish Calvin Harris´ victory with his biggest hit "I`m Not Alone" earlier this year. Although he reached the highest position with this second single taken from the album with the name the same as that of the third single which however only reached the lowest possible position; that is number 10 for "Ready For The Weekend". This week he puts the weekend preparations aside and takes a trip down memory lane with a "Flashback" trying to paint the images of a drunk evening with the help of polaroid shots. He does this at number 9....to begin with! Although Ida Corr enters the dfc in the top 3, she shouldn´t get too comfortable considering that two artists just got cut from the chart in the top 3; Pitbull and Bob Sinclar. That is the worst performing song for a song peaking at number 2 in the case of Pitbull`s "Hotel Room Service". It has only spent 2 weeks in the chart and one of those weeks at number 2. This becomes interesting when we remind ourselves that his earlier hit "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" was the song to perform the best for a song peaking at this peak when his hit spent 7 weeks there last summer.

October 27, 200915 yr 2009-10-25 David Guetta has occupied the top spot for 17 consecutive weeks and not just with 1 song but the with the two first singles dropped from the current album "One Love". We noted him to be the only artist to ever replace himself at the summit of the dfc and also had a three-week run with a neck-to-neck status in the top 2 which is also a record. As soon as next week this could be mirrored directly to the Best Of 2009 chart if Europe keep dancing to "Sexy Chick" more than other club tracks next week. From the French DJ to a Dutch DJ as we turn our attention to Tiesto who also has one of the biggest names on the European dance scene. His collaboration with the Sydney-based Australian dance group Sneaky Sound System has been in the top 10 for 10 weeks and in this 10th week is when they climb to number 2. This is also how far his earlier song "Edward Carnby" made it in February. He has however performed better several times before for instance with "Love Comes Again", "Dance 4 Life" and "In The Dark" all examples of dfc-topping tracks. Tiesto is known for making remixes on songs, some of which become successful. He is also behind this weeks only new entry in at number 6; "Papillon" by the British Indie rock band Editors. The German DJ Paul Van Dyk shuffled up a notch last week to number 5 but this week finds himself sliding to number 7. Although it´s still early to tell whether his peak can be improved if he fails then this will be the very first time he misses the top 3 of the top 10 dfc.

November 2, 200915 yr 2009-11-01 10 years ago was the first time the German DJ and producer with alias ATB entered the dancefloor chart and made it to number 1 with "9PM (Till I Come)". The same year he followed it up with another successful single "Don´t Stop". In 2000 he peaked at number 2 for over a month with "The Summer" and in 2002 made it to the top again with "Hold You". In 2004 he dropped yet two more successful dfc top 10 singles "Marrakech" and "Ecstasy". These are his best efforts in the countdown and now he returns with "Behind" together with Flanders at number 10. Ian Carey is an American-house DJ and producer who moved from America to Euope a couple of years ago as he wasn´t happy with the house music scene in the States. Today he releases material under The Ian Carey Project and in the beginning of this year he gave us "Get Shaky" which made it to number 3. This week he charts with "Shot Caller" at number 9. After 6 weeks at number 1, David Guetta´s "Sexy Chick" is knocked of the top spot by Tiesto´s "I Will Be Here". The single with Akon is among his 5 best hits on the dfc if we recall that "Delirious" also spent 6 weeks at the top last year. The songs that have survived longer at number 1 are "Tomorrow Can Wait" (8 weeks), "Love Is Gone" (9 weeks) and obviously "When Love Takes Over" (13 weeks). The interesting part is that these 5 monster hits were made in just the last two years!

November 8, 200915 yr 2009-11-08 The Dancefloor Chart´s number 1 comes as a late birthday present to Medina who has just celebrated her 27th birthday last Tuesday. The Danish singer´s first international hit progresses all the way to the top and bumps Tiesto´s "I Will Be Here" to silver after only one week at number 1. If we look back at the dfc chart of November 11th, 2006 we find that one of the two new entries was the Canadian electronic music group Mstrkrft with "Work On You" entering at number 10. They then climbed to number 9 were they remained for 2 weeks before dropping out of the chart the following week. At the beginning of August this year they entered at number 10 with the assistance of John Legend in "Heartbreaker" and managed to repeat the chart-run of "Work On You"! However this week the duo enter at number 9 together with N.O.R.E. in "Bounce". David Guetta´s "Sexy Chick" falls out of the chart this week after only 9 weeks in the top 10, 6 of which were spent at the top. This is a rather short stay for a song reigning for so long. However there is an even shorter stay, one set by Lady GaGa´s "Poker Face" and lasted for ONLY 7 weeks were ONLY one of those weeks weren´t spent at the top!

November 23, 200915 yr 2009-11-22 Fedde Le Grand enters at number 7 with "Let Me Be Real" and its Mitch Crown who takes care of the singing just like he did in the previous single "Scared Of Me" which peaked at number 5 during the summer. It spent 4 weeks at this peak which is actually a record not to mension the very impressive chart-run itself. This song lasted for 13 weeks in the countdown and that´s also the duration for Calvin Harris´ first hit "I´m Not Alone" although it actually made it to number 1 for 1 week. Perhaps Calvin took a "Flashback" whilst repeating this success in this weeks countdown ending Medina´s reign at the top after 2 weeks. She ends up at number 2 with "You And I". When Medina became number 1, she had actually bumped the man that replaces himself this week, of the top spot. Tiesto replaces his hit "I Will Be Here" with "Escape Me". This is not the only replacement he has done as he also replaces assistance from Sneaky Sound System to CC Sheffield.
November 23, 200915 yr Flashback number 1? :o  Definitely one of the best number 1s of this year

November 29, 200915 yr Eww at David Guetta. The song is a flop everywhere, why is it #1, debuting there no less
November 30, 200915 yr 2009-11-29 The last 3 years will definitely be memorable for David Guetta as he manages to score a 9th number 1 on the dfc where 8 of these where his 8 latest entries meaning 8 number-1´s in a row. The first 5 are all the releases from the album "Pop Life" and the last 3 are all the releases so far from the latest album "One Love" and this is also the title of this weeks winning single. "Stay" was David´s first track to make it to the top in 2004. David Guetta not only holds the record for the most number 1´s on the dfc but also for the most singles to enter directly at number 1 as this is what happened to "Love Is Gone", "When Love Takes Over" and now "One Love". David´s success which includes his work on one of this year´s biggest hits "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas; has also encouraged several artists to want to collaborate with him as evidenced on the latest album were Kelly Rowland, Akon, Will.I.Am, Ne-Yo, Kid Cudi and Estelle contribute. Speaking of Estelle, this weeks victory is her second time to reign the chart. The first time occured in 2005 where she replaced Boy George when Faithless revived the 1999-dfc chart topping single "Why Go". Deadmau5 and Kaskade are no strangers to the top 10 especially considering their number-1 hit earlier this year with "I Remember". It spent only 5 weeks in the chart and this is the shortest time ever spent in the top 10 for a song that tops it. Now they are back at number 7 with "Move For Me". Chase & Status on the other hand are strangers to the dfc as this dance/electronic duo from London have been producing music for 6 years without charting. They finally realise that Plan A is not working so the duo resort to Plan B and this gives them entry to the chart at number 10 with "End Credits".
