On New Years Day it was 45 years since TOTP was first broadcast.

tbh its often held up with misplaced affection. but its hard to give a definitive answer about the show as it changed so much. it reflected the music of the times...in the 60's it was cool, it was serious, by the glam age in the 70's it was almost a parody of itself... incredibally naff.

bad mimes and even worse dance by pans people or whoever typified it. tbh it became a kids show and was only popular because it was the only show that was dedicated to pop on a weekly basis.
