January 8, 200916 yr I think Crying Blood was amaze. Such a shame it didnt make a huge impact :( I hope this does better for her :D
January 9, 200916 yr She's gonna be on the Sunday Night Project on the 11th. Dunno what she's promoting as this isn't out for a while.
January 10, 200916 yr Author Good to see her getting out there doing some promo. Any promo is good promo at this stage. Gets her name out there and the single isn't out until March when SNP isn't even on! She's got lots of press bits coming up over the coming weeks. Keep eyes peeled yah.
January 11, 200916 yr Exciting stuff, shame Crying Blood didnt make a larger impact but im hopeful for a hit with this.
January 11, 200916 yr Author Exciting stuff, shame Crying Blood didnt make a larger impact but im hopeful for a hit with this. Why would Island have wanted 'Crying Blood' to have "done well"? It'd have ended up excluded from the 'Sound of 2009' poll and in the process lost her tonnes of future exposure. They delayed 'Crying Blood' several times and demoted it to a limited 7" release with the most minor of promo to prevent it being a success. So it "flopping" was more deliberate than most would realise.
January 11, 200916 yr If that's the case then why did they spend presumably thousands giving her banners all over the internet? They were bloody inescapable until well into December on a number of forums I use...

They were bloody inescapable until well into December on a number of forums I use... That sort of promotion doesn't cost thousands Jack. Also it's all about building new artists in "exposing" them and getting the audience familiar with them. Credibility is a major thing too. Look at the 'Sound' list, all 10 acts have released limited 7" or CDS, those "limited" releases allow press to be written and hyperbole formed.
January 11, 200916 yr Like what I've heard of this, even if it is a bit obscure for my usual tastes. And I like her writing. She might be a one to watch :o [/latecomer]

January 12, 200916 yr Ooh I love that! It's very catchy, I love her voice too, it's so quirky. Hopefully this can be a hit for her, it sounds like it could be!

January 12, 200916 yr This is definitely better than "Quick Fix" and could be better than "Crying Blood" eventually, it's quite similar anyway. She reminds me of someone but I'm not quite sure, Annie Mac says Janelle Monae is much better than her but I'm not sure if it's her I'm thinking of. She did "Crying Blood" on the Sunday Night Project, it wasn't that great but it's decent exposure I guess. Edited January 12, 200916 yr by Aaron™
January 12, 200916 yr You are becoming QUITE the fan :o Haha yeah, I've really liked what I've heard from her so far. She sounds kinda different to what else is out there at the moment too, it's quite refreshing. I'd like to see her be a success but for some reason I have my doubts.
January 12, 200916 yr "Crying Blood" has been on the River Island playlist since like FOREFFA. I saw her performing on SNP and thought "she's singing the song from work... WHO IS THIS!?!" and obviously it has now been confirmed. The end.
January 12, 200916 yr Perhaps not as instant as Crying Blood was but still a fantastic song on first listen.
