Pop singer Kat DeLuna, who left Epic Records last October, has found a new home at Universal Motown, label reps confirm. She is scheduled to release a new, as-yet-untitled single featuring Lil Wayne in the coming weeks.

In a YouTube video posted for New Year's, DeLuna states the single is "a little bit different, but crazy," and that the sophomore album will be coming in 2009. RedOne, who produced DeLuna's debut album, "9 Lives," has confirmed he will be re-teaming with the Dominican artist. "She is the new, modern-day Selena," Red One told Billboard.com a few months ago.

"9 Lives" has sold 65,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen soundscan. Its lead single, "Whine Up," featuring Elephant Man, peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100.

I found '9 Lives' to be a very hit & miss album tbh though the song featured on with Darin was great so i suppose her new album could be good.
Lol will never forget that national anthem performance by her.
I love her too bits. 9 Lives wasn't at all as bad as it sold.. What went wrong? 'Whine Up', 'Run The Show' and 'In The End' should've been major hits and Calling You not even getting released is like wtf. Anyways looking forward to it and Lil Wayne is starting to improve from that creepy mumbling into actual words evident in that Kevin Rudolf song..lolz
Hope she carries on putting out shamelessly hot jungle music. I live for 'Animal'.

Indeed 'Animal' was definately one of the highlights from the album.

This is an amazing mashup of Lady GaGa 'Just Dance' with 'Whine Up'.

They fit perfectly together.

Charming. Or... not.

'Whine Up' deserved to be MASSIVE! And I must say, I first heard it as it was a theme to a WWE PPV in 2007 - Summerslam. Yes I know... a WWE PPV! It made a refreshing change to the Rock/Metal stuff they usually have as Themes.

'9 Lives' was brilliant, and I really can't believe 'Run The Show' JUST missed out on being Top 40 <_<

Sounds f***ing HOT from the clip:

lil wayne irks me. anyways, only 65,000 copies? that's unfortunate. she's pretty, can REALLY sing and can dance. i loved her singles. she just wasn't promoted well and that's her record labels fault. hopefully Universal treats her better. also, she looks like a lil girl even with the extra make up and itty bitty clothes.....that face is so little girlish. i'm not sure what they can do about that.
I'm sure if Rihanna recorded it, it would be a massive Top 5 hit, but because Kat's recorded it, it'll be a Top 50 Hit :( Kat deserves So much more :(
It sounds as i predicted, amazinggg but it sounds like somethings missing still.
Someone has got a hit on their hands! This is freakin brilliant... not like 9 Lives AT ALL either.

Does this song even have a structure?! It's like chorus/weezy rap/chorus/chorus/bit of a verse?!/chorus/chorus. It makes the entire track relentless (I'm not going to go for that obvious puntastic choice of phrasing).

Also, "My gait is really slick" = amazing lyric

Not really sure what to make of it to be honest.

It sounds such a mess in full and extremely repetitive but great at the same time.
