I know he was a superb actor and had starred in many, many things but I'll always remember him in the Star Trek episode that spawned the second best Star Trek film from the franchise ever ... Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan.

Rob you were joking when you asked 'who' weren't you?

Blimey, even I've heard of Ricardo Montalban..... Okay, granted, mainly for playing Khan, but I seem to remember him being in Die-Nasty (Dynasty.... ) as well.....

Half correct he was in the spin-off from Dynasty, The Colbys as Zach Powers. He was also particularly memorable as Vincent Ludwig in the first Naked Gun / Police Squad film with Leslie Nielson. As good a reason to drop this in I suppose!

The guy as done absolutely loads of stuff from the 1940's onward most recently he has (or his voice has appeared in Family Guy). I think Rob was just kidding when he said he'd never heard of him. I mean ... surely everyone has seen at least one episode of Fantasy Island. And for people over a certain age (which I know myself and Rob are) to not know him as Khan is unforgivable - even if you're not a Star Trek fan!

Anyone other than me remember Mr. Montalban as Armando, the circus owner, from the movie 'Conquest of the Planet of the Apes'?

I don't! But I do remember several appearances he did in The High Chapparal! Which probably makes me older than you.

Loved him in Star Trek, believe he was in Spy Kids 3 movie as well.

I was going to post the list of his full filmography/telography - but it truly would have run to pages & pages!

"The High Chaparral" .... El Tigre / ... (2 episodes, 1968)

- Our Lady of Guadalupe (1968) TV episode .... Padre Sanchez

- Tiger by the Tail (1968) TV episode .... El Tigre

He was only in two episodes ... but very memorable they were ... I think his face is still on the actual credits to the show!

Having seen just last night the movie 'The Singing Nun', with Debbie Reynolds in the title role, I did see the late Mr. Montalban in the same movie, in the role of Father Clementi.....

BTW, Norma, you're only 22, right??
