Thanks Spam. Just realised that Nina's notepad doesn't have speakers. Cyrus is a month older than our 13 yr old and she's taller than my Mum. they just seem to shoot up at this age. my son was 6ft by 13.

It looks like Darius didn't stay in the UK for long!!!! There are pictures over on Natasha's site of her arriving at a function on Tuesday, 20/1 and it certainly looks to me that Darius is driving the car!!! He must get exhausted!!

Lyrics for the modern Caledonia

Caledonia

Dougie MacLean

I don't know if you can see

The changes that have come over me

In these last few days I've been afraid

That I might drift away

So I've been telling old stories, singing songs

That make me think about where I came from

And that's the reason why I seem

So far away today

Oh, but let me tell you that I love you

That I think about you all the time

Caledonia you're calling me

And now I'm going home

If I should become a stranger

You know that it would make me more than sad

Caledonia's been everything

I've ever had

Now I have moved and I've kept on moving

Proved the points that I needed proving

Lost the friends that I needed losing

Found others on the way

I have kissed the ladies and left them crying

Stolen dreams, yes there's no denying

I have traveled hard with coattails flying

Somewhere in the wind

(Chorus)

Now I'm sitting here before the fire

The empty room, the forest choir

The flames that could not get any higher

They've withered now they've gone

But I'm steady thinking my way is clear

And I know what I will do tomorrow

When the hands are shaken and the kisses flow

Then I will disappear

This is what he sang................worth the wait :D

It was lovely to hear him again, especially singing Caledonia, and to hear the brilliant reception he received. It was touching as well to hear him talking about how he feels when he goes home to Scotland. Well worth the wait from 7 o'clock. Hope Rachel can put it on her site for those who were not able to listen. Sue

He actually sang 2 but I couldn't tell you what the first was....something kiss

The first song was Ae Fond Kiss - I'm just sorting the recording now, hopefully I can get them on the site tomorrow.

Thanks, Delphi. I'll look forward to that.

Ae Fond Kiss

by Robert Burns

Ae fond kiss, and then we sever

Ae fareweel, and then forever

Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee,

Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee.

Who shall say that Fortune grieves him,

While the star of hope she leaves him

Me nae cheerful twinkle lights me,

Dark despair around benights me.

I'll ne'er blame my partial fancy:

Naething could resist my Nancy

But to see her was to love her

Love but her, and love for ever.

Had we never loe'd sae kindly,

Had we never loe'd sae blindly,

Never met - nor never parted -

We had ne'er been broken-hearted.

Fare thee weel, thou first and fairest

Fare thee weel, thou best and dearest

Thine be ilka joy and treasure,

Peace, Enjoyment, Love and Pleasure

Ae fond kiss, and then we sever

Ae fareweel, alas, for ever

Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee,

Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee.

It was a Hollywood knees-up for Barack Obama's inauguration. It's tough the Burns Night was on the 19th but I can well understand why Darius went back to be with Natasha at this event instead of flying to London to work on his album.

Thanks Delphi, that would be great. Sue

It's on the radio menu on .net Thanks, delphi. :D

- The Star o' Rabbie Burns

This song (words by James Thomson and music by James Booth) is frequently sung at the Burns Suppers around the world at the end of January each year which celebrate the life and works of Robert Burns.

The Star o' Rabbie Burns

There is a star whose beaming ray

Is shed on ev'ry clime.

It shines by night, it shines by day

And ne'er grows dim wi' time.

It rose upon the banks of Ayr,

It shone on Doon's clear stream -

A hundred years are gane and mair,

Yet brighter grows its beam.

Chorus

Let kings and courtiers rise and fa',

This world has mony turns

But brightly beams aboon them a'

The star o' Rabbie Burns.

Though he was but a ploughman lad

And wore the hodden grey,

Auld Scotland's sweetest bard was bred

Aneath a roof o'strae.

To sweep the strings o'Scotia's lyre,

It needs nae classic lore;

It's mither wit an native fire

That warms the bosom's core.

Chorus

On fame's emblazon'd page enshrin'd

His name is foremost now,

And many a costly wreath's been twin'd

To grace his honest brow.

And Scotland's heart expands wi' joy

Whene'er the day returns

That gave the world its peasant boy

Immortal Rabbie Burns.

Brings back memories for me. This song was my neighbour's New Year party piece. He used to sing it every year, after Auld Lang Syne.

The songs Darius sang are now on .net.........Thank you so much Delphi!!! :cheer:

Thanks delphi so much. I have just listened and I thought it was wonderful. His voice has matured so much. Would love to hear him singing so often.
