We've just passed 40,000 posts. :cheer:

We may not be as busy as ws used to but I still love our little Will forum.

That's not bad TT - considering we don't boost our posts with 'games'.

Don't worry Di I'm guilty of so many typing errors.

40,000 posts? brilliant! I'm not posting half as much lately, but I read the sites every day for as long as I'm able, trapped nerves in my neck and shoulder are stopping me from posting more often, mind you, it's stopping me from posting my usual inane ramblings.

Will Young is set to play at Tatton Park on 1st August/

It seems that Will Young isn't content with getting to the top of the charts – he wants the top job too.

The MEN Diary caught up with the pop star as he was soaking up the rays during a break from his promotional work in Los Angeles. So, can Will crack America?

“President, I want presidency; I won't be happy with anything less,” he laughs. “Obama better watch out. The first gay pop star president. Bring it on.”

Lets hope he brings some of that sunshine back with him when he sings at Tatton Park on August 1.

“I can't wait to come back,” he says, recalling his last performance at the outside venue in 2005. “And, also Manchester has got a special place in my heart because I lived there for three months when I did a play (The Vortex) at the Royal Exchange (in 2007).”

The Northern Quarter, in particular, has left quite an impression on the Leave Right Now star. Having performed at the MEN Arena and the Apollo, is there anywhere else Will has his sights set on?

“Yes,” he says instantly. “Matt and Phred's, in the Northern Quarter. It's a great jazz bar. I'd love to perform there.”

Sadly, it might not happen for a while as the original Pop Idol will be finishing his new album. In the meantime, he tells me how fans will see a different performance at Tatton to his gigs performed inside:

“In the summer shows it's always great because you get the light that changes, so you start when the sun's about to go down and by the end the sun's gone completely down and that gives you a nice amount of mood changes throughout the set,” he says. “So I try and work the set according to the light and if it's a lovely day you get this amazing sunset.”

Will Young performs at Tatton Park Picnic Concerts on August 1 2010. For tickets and more information visit the website at http://www.tattonparkconcerts.com .

This summer is your chance to see the multi platinum-selling artist Will Young in the grounds of the delightful Kenwood House as part of the English Heritage Picnic Concerts.

After winning ‘Pop Idol’ 8 years ago, Will’s first single Evergreen became the fastest selling debut single in chart history. Since then he has sold more than eight million records. His most recent album, featuring his best known tracks, is entitled ‘The Hits‘ and features singles Leave Right Now, Light My Fire and Changes.

Don’t miss this fantastic evening, set against the spectacular backdrop of Kenwood House on London’s best loved green space – Hampstead Heath.
