The problem is that i don't think Said it all is a good choice for Germany. It is an excellent songs for fans, but they need right now new ones. I see more Up all night to do the trick.

They messed the promotion in Europe, they choosed the false lead single. It seems everything ruined now, really . I don't think that Germany would have been such a lost country for them - they get more to the adult section who buy the album, but when they have time and money and don't buy singles. I mean Oasis are here not so big as in UK, they don't play stadium here but small venues and are still coming.

Oh well, i shut up. I am utterly disspointed, at least i wished to see them in german TV with Up all night and hear them in radio, when they don't came here to tour. I cannot come to UK, too expensive and i have other priorities like having a baby and making with my husband a travel somewhere.

Are you sure Said It All is the next release in Germany? If it is ... it'll be the same in Italy I should imagine.

Saw the video on MSN just now. Hmm. Well, at least I like the song, lol! The video wouldn't be so bad but it seems like it's meant to be a street party - I don't get the impression that many people there are having such a great time.

I agree. This is what happens when you use people who just happen to be there. Sometimes ... especially for something that is supposed to look 'natural' you've got to use actors. That aside it really is badly edited. I'm hoping they are just rushes we've seen and not the finished article.

Well, that is what Howard said to a fan (he was in Germany for DJ-ing). I don't know if he is the best source for reliable information, as it seems he has sometimes given false informations  ...

I hope at least if they release it, they will do a proper video and promotion. That was not present for Reach out, it didn't get a chance to perform well. On the market are so many songs, that if you don't know that a band releases a song, you will not buy it in the time it counts for charts. In UK, TakeThat is at least once in a monthly magazine, so the new songs get attention - here are only scandals babies like Britney, Amy and Robbie in the magazines. And if i like the b-side, i may end to buy the single this time (i hate to download songs but also to have hundrets of cds in house :teresa: ).

I've never, ever downloaded a song! :) I don't know how to! I bought one of those iTunes cards the other day and its sitting in front of me ... and I haven't a clue what to do with it! I'm too old for this game!

But this is the second single ... which is a bit bewildering. Maybe they're just trying something out.

Norma

sorry i mis read that i thought up all night was 2nd single in italy etc and said it all was third,,i think they are daft not to go with up all night as an all round single

Do you know what! I've just had a bloody awful thought! They aren't going to be able to do any promotion for the new single at all!!!! :o Not all four of them anyway ... in a few weeks Gary gets ready to set off on this bloody climb! So I can't see them doing anything at all! Bloody hell ... as good as it is ... it needs some promo from them!

Norma

maybe the others will promote it but with gary doing the charity walk it will be in the papers so they will prob add gary who;s new single up all night is out now

radio will be hugely behind this song i think and that will def help its quest for number 1

Up All Night now in the Airplay Chart (number 45 up from something like 420). So they now have three in there! I just wish they'd bring the cd release day forward to mid February.

To be honest though Iris, I don't think anything the boys release outside the UK will do well chart-wise - even UAN - as good as it is. I'm assuming that they'll release Said It All without a video too ... like they did Reach Out ... which means (and I'm a bit annoyed and ashamed of them for this) they're honestly aren't trying outside the UK.

Thats exactly how i felt since "The Beatiful Wolrd" album it seem to me their succes & populrity is only limited ot the uk & ireland.

back in the early to mid 90's theyr were huge worldwide, And now they dont seem to care that much.

Correct me if im wrong Norma but isn't "Paitience" their biggest hit and only hit in europe/asia since their comeback while there follow up singles flopped hard??

Edited by Dinno

and whret the "Eff" is gary in the new take that video????!!!!!!

He's in the early bits of it but on the day they were recording ... his wife went into labour so he had to dash off to the hospital ... which is why he isn't in the night-time scenes.

The flop thing is depending on what are you comparing. I don't think that Oasis singles did better for example. Neither other ex-boy-band as a matter of fact :naughty: .

Oh yeah, they are not so popular anymore. But if you put in the perspective that the audience, they are targeted to, don't buy too much singles, you have the answer. Also, to my complain, they are very seldom outside UK to promote their songs :arrr: .

I don't know what the answer is to be honest! I really think they must have considered what kind of input into promotion they'd need in Europe to have some success and calculated that it would really be just too much. For a band in their twenties or even early thirties it may have been possible. Besides ... maybe they're content with the success they had there the first time ... some artists aren't even lucky enough once around.

And is promotion really everything? There seem to be acts having huge success in Europe and not doing any promotion at all. And as much as I hate to admit it ... Robbie could release ANYTHING tomorrow and not promote at all and it would be at least a medium-sized hit! Take That really do appear to be a UK phenomenon.
