Where did you get that from Pete? Its not on Martin's updates (is it?)

Anyway ... I think they can definitely kiss goodbye to a number 1 - the Comic Relief single is released the same day!

If they go no 1 with a depeche mode song i will scream! DM got very less recognition for their music in UK and it that cover goes No 1 make me :puke2: ... Something like Hallelujah did for me and we have someone in Germany who covered Nothing else matter ! :puke2: :puke2: :puke2:

I was hoping it would stay outside of the 75 until nearer the physical release however, I don't think the physicals will make much difference anyway (or so everyone says nowadays).

Still ... it looks good three Take That singles in the top 75.

i think phyisicals will make a differnece for take that as their fans always buy the phyisical,it climbed well over the weekend as it jumped about 30 places to number 72,i really hope number 1 or not that it sells huge

But in reality you'll only be able to buy the physical of Take That's single in HMV (now that almost everywhere else is redundant) whereas the Comic Relief singles will be available at check-outs in Asda, Tesco, etc. Still ... they should have thought about this and not left the release of the second single so long. I think it serves them right if it misses out big time. Besides ... The Saturday's single isn't that bad (I was expecting it to be awful ... but its ok).

Well, that comes from Gary's climbing - they cannot promote without him and he is the whole februar only for his Kili project. The irony is that he climbs and that awful cover for the cause he is climbing will go to no 1 instead of UAN :puke2: (that is not fair, Depeche Mode deserved a no 1 and a cover from them will get a chance instead them :puke2: ) . I think they should stick more to the music and promotion  . They will lost the moment from the brits because of this climbing  (sorry i have something against such kind of "charity", has nothing to do in particular with Gary).

it is a shame up all night will miss put on such promotion but i still think it will sell quite well

I'm afraid I am waving the white flag now as far as this single is concerned. Even though I think it is a great single and although only my second favourite song on the album - it is the most 'single-worthy' ... I think it'll be hard pushed to make the top 10 now! I hope they don't release a third single after this! And it hasn't got the excuse of poor airplay as it has actually got quite a lot (both radio and tv). People just don't seem to like it!

Very good Norma that you changed your opinion! Every time you are pessimistic, it turns well!!!

As the album sold to quick to much, i will be happy if the song make top 5 and quite content if top 10. I don't need for them to be the top of the world but to keep releasing good songs and evolve as a band. The more no 1 they have, the worse are the chances to do so as the pressure increase on them to make everything on success formulae. Better a good song which is not very liked by the masess as a poor song loved and overhyped  .

very good point iris and rule the world is an xample of that,it didnt go number 1 but had mass appeal,,the weird thing is take that are now an albums badn the whole focus since their return is on how well the albums hand tours have done,i mean the ultimate collection, beautiful world and the circus have been massice success, and to be fair so far they have had 4 big selling singles and rule the world has amzed me i know i adore the song myself but its longevity and sales are way beyond what i expected.....the group definitly are evolving as a band and what smore they are enjoying it and its not their life which is great for them..

up all night is a brilliant song and i think the huge airplay will see it top 10 as the phyisiacl will sell well,,

I just think anything less than top 5, for only a second single from an act like Take That, no matter how well selling the album is (I think Beautiful World sold almost as many, if not more, than The Circus at around the same time - and yet Shine still managed to get to number 1) is a poor show. Or maybe a sign that with this album they haven't reached further than their fan-base - which they did do with BW.

Its especially annoying as Up All Night is a really good song and deserved number 1 more than Greatest Day did.

Norma

shine got alot of promo though and dancing on ice helped it hugely,up all night will go top 5 and likely top 3

Top 10 at best now. Even I have to admit ... I've watched the video several times now and it is absolute sh te! It does nothing for an absolutely superb song! Totally half-arsed rush job and for that (together with the 'zero' promotion) they deserve to have a slap around the face in the form of a top 10 miss! I don't think a one-off performance at the Brits will help either ... this awful video will be firmly entrenched in people's minds ... it is mine!

Have you guessed ... I think I'm outgrowing my Take That phase! I'm looking forward to the concerts now ... but thats all really. In a way .... I hope they fulfil the 'three album' deal with the release a 'best of' and then maybe end for now and come back in another 10 years.

Not heard the interview but Gary was on Heart FM and apparently they're not even doing Up All Night at the Brits ... they're doing Greatest Day. I think they want UAN to fail.

By the way ... I got tickets to see 10cc today! I wouldn't bother normally as there's only one original member now - Graham Gouldman. However, Mike Stevens (music MD for Take That, saxophonist, guitarist and keyboard player extra-ordinaire) is playing with them! Plus ... I'm hoping as Gouldman was in The Hollies .... they'll play some Hollies songs too!
