I really want to watch this and i cant believe i still havent :(

But it sounds like from what everyone is saying/what i am hearing, its not that great?

From the trailers though, im expecting a very dark Sin City/Frank Miller-esque Comic Movie.. And im a fan of films as such.

 

Watchmen is actually before Sin City though in comic book terms Joao... It's interesting you mention that though, the whole sub-plot with Rorschach's investigation and his "war journal", IS kinda Sin City-esque and put me in mind of that film, but that's really not the way it should be, because Watchmen came first...

 

To do this properly, and the whole backstory and the revelations from the graphic novel some real justice, I feel that Watchmen should have been split into two films in the same manner as "Che"... Two two and a half hour films released a month apart. The director I feel was also the wrong choice, yeah, he got all the technical stuff right and gave us some really good action sequences, but he couldn't really deliver on the areas that actually counted. Some better casting would've helped as well, Malin Akerman is probably the most useless Super-heroine portrayal since Jessica Alba played Susan Storm Richards..... There's any number of actresses who could have both looked good in the latex and acted well too..... Eliza Dushku anyone....? :rolleyes:

Coming from a point of view of someone who's never read the comic, I guess it was pretty okay. The effects/graphics/CGI of the movie itself are amazing, especially the opening scene and parts in the prison I really enjoyed! The acting was pretty naff, if you asked me to recall any of the characters I wouldn't be able to. And parts of the movie went so slow, it's good that it went into detail and the way it was drafted out, but it could of been a bit better planned.

 

I'm so tempted to check out the comic anyway, it was definitely a superhero movie I did not expect to turn out like. It was really dark, and deep. Something worth looking into me thinks.

I saw this on the plane. I really enjoyed it. The effects were brillant! The only thing that spoilt it was the girl....(sorry don't know what her name is) the one in the yellow leotard. She is an awful actress.

She's not the only thing that spoils this film though - the oversimplification of the plot and backstory, too much signposting of the twists and the seriously cr@p actor who plays Ozymandias are also things which I feel spoil the film.... Read the graphic novel Kate.....

According to IMDb, she's actually a singer in a rock band - The Petalstones... Never heard of them tbh..... She's Swedish as well.....

Indeed she was according to IMDb.... Never saw it myself (mainly because I've kind of had Ben Stiller by-pass surgery.... :lol: )... So, she gets all "nekkid" in that film as well then....? :lol:

 

I mean, yeah, she's kinda pretty and all, but, cant act for sh!t...... Maybe she should stick to her Rock band.... I cant imagine it actually being any worse than her acting..... :rolleyes:
